YOU would quit, I would not.I don't think the idea is bad at all- but Would you be playing if it was 100% drop?? after the update?? I mean come on- if it was 100% drop... you'd quit this game 1 week after you get all your ifrit weapons... w T do you want to do after you get all your ifrit weapon? nothing???
Stop speaking for others. There are others things to do than be stuck at Ifrit for 200 fights, then be stuck with Moogles for 200, then... see?
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Yes I won't whine when I have to spend weeks to figure out a fight that is close to impossible to beat (there is no such content at the moment) and when I finally do my effort is rewarded, not "maybe" rewarded.
Nerfing drop rates is just an excuse for not delivering challenging content. They can't make it harder to beat, so they make you do it more times. It gets boring fast.
I would though, if they nerf the drop rate anymore there is no point in doing these things, there barely is now.
Getting same gear over n over n over n over n over again and you cant pass to someone else need it is really piss off.
this whole drop rate problem is nothing new, XI fighting tiamat for 6-8 hours only to get a fire crystal. took 30 people to take it down. oh yeah sooooo rewarding.

yeah but the gaiters weren't a rare ex item that only randomly dropped directly into your inventory. also 6-8 hours, 30 people? you were doing it wrong.
Removed due to size restrictions and possible seizures risks.

It is still different from FFXI. In FFXI, while the drop rates were incredibly low, whenever it dropped, you could at least pass it to the other person. Not making the weapon passable while having a dirt low drop rate is really pushing us to the ground and then kicking us.
The system for turning items in really needs to be adjusted. Fighting Moogle 20 times itself is a lot of work and deserve at least one weapon out of it. With how often kupo nuts don't drop, and most people like to keep the nut that dropped to them, it would take a lot of work. I have beaten Moogle about six times now, and I got the nut at 1/5. So if this is how it is, then if I beat Moogle about 100+ times, I should get enough nuts to get the weapon I want.
While I may get the weapon I want during that time, the item system feels worthless basically.

So then would we rather prefer a system where you get 1 weapon 100% with a 50% chance to drop a 2nd weapon that each person could lot on (mind you the weapons would be randomized on what would drop)
or
keep the current personal loot?
Because those would be our options, more than likely.
You realize that there isn't even close to a 100% drop for the entire party right now right? So then would we rather prefer a system where you get 1 weapon 100% with a 50% chance to drop a 2nd weapon that each person could lot on (mind you the weapons would be randomized on what would drop)

We have gone dozens of Ifrit's and Moogle fights without anyone receiving a weapon.
But yes I wouldn't care if they severely nerfed the drop rate, they need to give us back a real loot system.

Wow.
I always say I'm against fruitless long timesinks, but you want a 70-100% drop rate for totems, plus a chance to grab the weapon? Really?
Heck, Ifrit might as well not bother attacking and give you all the weapons if you /bow to him.
Sure, go ahead and ramp up the drop rate a bit, but anything over 20% is overkill.
Also, protip: Totems are best used by giving all of them to a single party member needing a specific weapon.
Just out of curiosity, how many hours would you estimate you have spent fighting Ifrit? I don't know about you, but somewhere around 200 hours I began wondering if there weren't better things I could do with my life.Wow.
