Some thoughts about the items on sell on the mog station

Yoshi has minimal say in what goes with mogstation
apparently the mogstation boss is a scary lady according to Yoshi

so i dont think adding more content for older items (which is pretty moot for those who have them already) isn't something they can or will do.

I know, I pay for them... it's more than x2 for the subscription fees. And that's another big problem, it's totally unfair for those who don't have the income to pay that extra to the game. When Shadowbringer will come out, I'll have 10 retainers to send to get my mats to level my crafter, and that doesn't count the extra space, 8 more retainers + 1 extra sadle bag, this is just unfair for those who can't pay them. It doesn't just give a small advantage. I should have mentionned them too in my original post.

I understand that it's a business, but, it's also not a free game based on a cash shop...

No one needs all those extra retainers and if paying for them makes you feel uncomfortable having to spend so much, don't do it. I'm sure you don't mean it in this sense but you are complaining you are paying for something optional yet want more optional stuff but for free whether it's for entitlement or because it's income related. I wouldn't expect anyone to sub to a P2P game if money was ever an issue, probably need to change some priorities (like less retainers).

Also many items come other versions of the game (like China, Korea) and are made especially for those markets, who's players also have to pay cash to obtain them. SE has to treat it fairly if such items are released on the other regions of the game, hence we have to pay as well.

Honestly the mogstation isn't a huge issue. The pricing is fine and they don't flood it with items, especially mounts (there are only, what, 4 or 5 on there?).

It's interesting how people seem to think that subscriptions equal 'pays for every expense an MMO has', when in reality it doesn't. Look at ESO, who was planning on going P2P but then realized that they couldn't make ends meet with subscription only, so they went B2P and began putting more stuff in their Crown Store, which makes them tons more money than a 'subscription only' ever could. MMOs have a ton of bills to pay to keep the game going, keep new content under development, etc... there are on-going expenses let alone needing to make a profit so as to give returns to investors. People complain simply because they don't WANT TO pay for something, but they don't give any thought behind the reasons why businesses do what they do... hint... they do it because they are a BUSINESS not a CHARITY and they need to make profits.

Look at ESO...

ESO's Crown Store is a great example of how bad things can get. It's utterly horrendous, constantly flooded with pricey mounts, minions, and outfits (and houses!) - far more than are available in the game itself. Sometimes FFXIV players don't know how fortunate they are :P

I don't mind them to sell items from the past events, we had a chance to get them for free. But, items that comes out, without any events, they are the one that I feel it's super wrong.

ESO's store is even worse then you describe here. Most of the really good stuff (mounts, etc) is hidden behind regularly changing loot boxes with really low drop rates. They also swap out items very often, have flash sales for very expensive items like houses that costs more $100 and are only available for a very short time. This is one of the most predatory cash shops I know.

I think I have already spent 200 on this game since I started. 29.99 for the base game + two expansions. 59.99 for the pre-order deluxe SB expansion. 29.99 for fat moogle. 24.99 for fatter cat. 10.00 Fantasia. Sub + 3 retainers, 18.99 a month and the Answers (reprise) orchestral roll 3?, Dote emote 2? It feels like there has been other stuff too, but I don't mind. I am happy to financially support a game that gives back to the community as well. Maybe not everyone can afford a fatter cat but my money going to a fatter cat helps contribute to a game that benefits them in content too.

Sort of related, as cash shop thread.

BLM weapons are 2 handed after level 50 and 1 handed wands don't glamour over them.
10/10 cash shop, sells glamour that can't be actually be used.

Maybe not everyone can afford a fatter cat but my money going to a fatter cat helps contribute to a game that benefits them in content too.

There are 2 variants to a mount obtained in game, a couple of 2 person mounts, a couple of carbuncles (Cute!), fatter cat, a motorcycle and a horsey with a long tail.
