Ok but it's a limited job, as in it can't do anything during the day.
Make it so!

As obsessed with vampires as I am, and them being present in past iterations of FF games, I still can't help but feel like vampires are so unorthodox and black sheepish in the world of FF. I think we would sooner see them among the voidsent than a playable job. Still though, I would welcome just about any job whose powers border on being eldritch if the lore and playability are intact.OP doesn't mean a literal vampire. They meant Vincent, with the chaos materia. Which is why they referenced the Lust Pomander.
On void magic though I bet that'd make a neat backstory and theme, I'd love the job to drip eldritch mystery and danger.
I understood, but Vincent doesn't exist in Eorzea and vampires might. So my suggestion stands, plus I'm scared of them so if I can avoid them at night that would be best!
I know, but the thread title is still "New Job - Vampire", not "New Job - Vincent" so I addressed the header specifically. If the job plays in attunement to Vincent's powers though, can it really be called Vampire? I would fully expect a job of the vampire class to have abilities such as turning into mist to negate damage, NOT use guns, HP restoration through siphoning the blood of their opponents, teleportation as a form of their gap closer/retreat, morphing into various creatures of the night, among other well-known vampiric traits.
As far as Vincent goes, in addition to the lust pomanders, there are many mechanics that have us take on other forms such as gorillas, imps, and frogs so it is something I think the devs could accomplish. The Spawn like cape Vincent possesses is also interesting because iirc, his cape is sentient and could have a lore of its very own much like a SCH's faerie.

I mean in an aspect the title is what the title is but it's not the intention of the thread .... /cry lol. I guess because I'm interested in the idea I was hoping people wouldn't fix on the title but rather read the "article" per say. I'm sure people are used to that on reddit and stuff lol, "actor dies" meanwhile the article is "actor dies in their movie as X character" and its just like .. great now the comments are all over XD.
It's not off topic since it literally is part of the topic but it was obviously not meant to be a key part of it, so no one is doing something they're not supposed to but not what was intended by the thread either - which is unfortunate. :3. Also I'm no god of staying on topic either, so definitely take my protest with a mountain of salt <3.
You felt that too? That's coolAs far as Vincent goes, in addition to the lust pomanders, there are many mechanics that have us take on other forms such as gorillas, imps, and frogs so it is something I think the devs could accomplish. The Spawn like cape Vincent possesses is also interesting because iirc, his cape is sentient and could have a lore of its very own much like a SCH's faerie... What do you think if the cape was the weapon for this job? Since you know Spawn it might be easier to imagine that than someone who's only reference is Doctor Strange (tried to reference Spawn too). Like Spawn, in part like Bayonetta, it could be really interesting "weapon" concept that I don't think you'd see as an item to equip very often in a game (especially as an MMO).
Also would ensure the brooding look of the job I think lol and an opportunity to make some wild looking relic weapon. The animations would need to be able to be designed well though, but once done I think it would work (attack animations/ability animations outside of transformations would be beyond just a simple sword swing). It could also be a key part in the animation shift into void monster like things or gameplay mechanics (auto defending cloak/growth mechanics, etc), helping animate the shift (covering parts up so it looks good from human to not).
Is Vincent's cloak actually sentient though? I don't remember reading about that, that'd be cool to know. I feel void / eldritch magic with a sentient cloak would work well together as well, and with the cloak could give the job high mobility - at least I imagine a Vincent inspired job to be very mobile.
A number of your vampire abilities could be used on Vincent but I think that's because he's "vampire-lite" basically lol, he's not a vampire clearly but it isn't wrong to say he's inspired by many of the ideas.

Ohhh don't mind me. I was just defending my post and should have addressed what the OP was talking about in my initial post. xD Hopefully my second post was more on topic. Totes my bad!@Colino / Gemina

I actually really like the idea of this cloak or cape being a weapon. I really enjoyed the anima questline and having a weapon that is sentient. The potential to be a really cool job with even cooler abilities is certainly there. Vincent was one of my favorite characters from VII not too far behind Tifa. I never got to play his spinoff game, but he was formidable in Advent Children and made me wish I did play it. The animations would make a lot of other jobs envious, and I can definitely see 'monster mechanics' being a thing. I feel the devs have been quite creative with our current jobs and this one would be no exception. You felt that too? That's cool.. What do you think if the cape was the weapon for this job? As far as Vincent's cloak actually being sentient, I am not 100% sure, but I could have sworn I read about his lore somewhere. I could be wrong though, but it would make a lot of sense if it was. SE isn't exactly original when it comes to their concepts, but they do have a great way of putting their own spin on things. Who knows. Maybe sometime in the not so distant future we might get a job that pays a lot of his fans service. They might have to give it a different tag than vampire, but it can work either way.![]()
