    Wasn't something akin to vampirism in one of the class quests already? You couldn't take part in it of course, but it was linked into the class. I suppose any ability where you heal from dealing damage could be seen as semi vampiric as well.

    The antagonist of the red mage 50 to 60 story was basically a vampire. I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about.

    Mhm; yes. That guy. He was pretty much a vampire; which I thought was pretty damned cool.
