Gender locked race?

Chuckles; a part of me is wondering if the devs have noticed this thread yet - pretty fast growing... hmmmmm

As for Roe's being 'jokes' eh - not so sure about that, but two of the walking joke characters were male Roe. The first one who was pretending to be part of the crew that felled Titan. Another who was an 'imperial' who kept blurting out 'It's like all my namesdays came at once!' and kept getting his bootie kicked every time. I guess the Roe brothers in warrior quest are also 'semi-jokes' one less than the other - mostly due to their names that are linked into 'Brokeback Mountain' and 'Curious George'. Shrug.

you then have Hoary and Ochre Boulder i like them but their names are questionable at times, you also have male roe animations on emotes they have the most what i call wacky emotes that are way more played down on every other race/gender combo, i think the whole roe are 'jokes' is down to how SE handles them and when SE wants them to be more comical they go with the whole make the Big Burly guy dress as weird as possible

then i guess all of the ffxiv races are a joke because all of those things can be applied to the other races as well.

I didn't say the race IS a joke i said why people may see them as a joke because the more memorable male roes are treated as such whether by name convention or the way they act you have Mylwerb's right hand man is the most serious male roe you have to interact with in msq followed by Rititayn(lv49 trial), HW portrayal of Gosetsu was a comedic loud man something i'm glad SB didn't add more to, you then have the guy who calls titan Titus, SE's portrayal of male roes is the issue there when they want us to take them serious i will

The problem is Hildabrand is optional you are not forced to interact with him and his adventures you are forced to interact with the above people and male roes in msq are the most comical characters just like lalas are portrayed as money grubbing etc the problem is SE way of writing and portraying them.

I never said they were a joke; hence I said 'not so sure about that' and then just mentioned some of the joke chaps that currently existed?
