I highly doubt anyone entering BA has the intention to “mess it up.” (and if they are, it’s a small minority.) They are participating in content available to them. People playing this game are not stupid, they can learn fights and mechanics if they play the content. Premades are allowed to ask that no one takes a portal but that’s as far as it goes. You are not being kind to others when you berate them for “stealing” something that never even belonged to you. People entering BA even with a group telling them “not to steal portals” are well within their right and aren’t breaking any rules.
yes this thank you. I understand that yes technically you don't' have to do BA to get your relic, but it was just such a build up all through eureka to the BA, and it was exciting in anemos thinking I could take my relic there, seeing this ominous castle in the distance. So I spend all this time grinding and grinding to find that it all that grind doesn't really mean anything and that the final battle of the relic is not designed for the kind of adventure I've been grinding all this time for.
I just think we can agree that the relic and savage/raid content is meant to appeal two different types of players, I mean that's why the weapon item lvls are the same as the savage weapons.so you can become "powerful" doing content of your choice. now BA is optional of course and not needed for the relic, and I know the argument stands "well you don't like it then don't do it" which yea that's very true, but it just kinda sucks to build a relic and follow a story that is a large build up to content you aren't really into (savage raiding/static/premade needed stuff)
ultimately my only idea is to just make it like 4 person or 8 people. and that if you grind enough like getting the armor, relic, elemental bonuses & setting up logos actions you can take it on solo and make it through. Make it a piece of content to really make use of the relic you grinded so long for, so you rely on the relic you built, not trying to find 50 other people to do it with. cause ultimately this content is about the relics right?
"A heartbeat without harmony
Is moonlight without dark"
it's content that requires organization and proper party composition and proper preparation gated behind who can click the things faster when they turn red.
Organized, prepared groups get through; it clears fairly well
random people get through; it's a complete disaster that falls flat before it even begins
and it only takes a couple random people to ruin the whole thing which in turns punishes everyone for failing
how much worse of a design could it possibly have? I'd be surprised if anyone gets clears past the groups that rushed it early as a team fully intending to beat the crowds
even for the people trying to champion pugs... do you really think it's a good experience for someone to lock out a prog parties tank or healer, piss them off, and be left for dead right out of the gate? because that's pretty much what happens
True, but let's be real. I haven't even hit max level yet and I've watched as many groups, public and organized, went into BA.
- Public groups were a mixed bag, but no one had any expectations on the group clearing. I haven't noticed the public groups ever getting more than 3-4 parties inside at once.
- Organized discord groups would rush in, but I usually noticed drama in shout chat. One thing I've noticed was how a cluster of people that weren't part of the organized group would suddenly try to sneak in. One particularly explosive example I witnessed involved an entire public party locking out another party from said organized group - and going off of shout chat, they apparently messed something up bad almost immediately and completely wiped, AND they took another party down with them at the same time. It's behavior that makes me think they were sneaking in and expecting to get carried, and wouldn't have participated otherwise if it was just a public run and/or the organized group didn't announce their intent beforehand. Indeed, I am now noticing said discord room and various raiding friends talking about how it's probably better to silently organize instead of talking about it in-game.
(On another note, something that probably doesn't need to be pointed out - I've seen this type of behavior repeatedly with regards to how people view 'practice' vs 'clear' parties in PF.)
- The ones I've seen perform the best (as in, didn't end up returning to town as a pile of corpses) were the ones that made it clear that their only intent was to go in to farm fragments and leave before hitting the really difficult parts of the raid.
Don't be a jerk and go in expecting to get carried. Be honest, not only to others, but to yourself as well. Then again, that's probably too much to expect from most people on our side of the ocean. Let's face it, a lot of people are very dishonest. I'm probably one of the most optimistic raiders people will ever meet, and even my default stance is to prepare for any kind of situation because I don't trust that people are being honest about their experience.

"Consider this old adage: When a Bard sings alone in a desert, and no one is around to hear him... Is he truly singing?"
Arsenal is amazing, outside of some issues the biggest of them being zoning in together as a premade and portals being made for a pick up group experience while the content being appearently planned for a organized raid. Its truly a great raid unlike any other. Of course, it has more issues but they aren't as major as the ones I've listed.
I hope SE takes this as a hint that Savage Alliance raids can be a thing in the future. Or even do a scaled down version of the Arsenal for the next exploration cotent they bring us.
Ability to switch jobs would be nice, but I feel concerns are being blown out of proportion. You don't have to clear the entire dungeon to get upgrade items for more dmg. As more and more players get upgrades and have seen the fights, it'll get easier and easier. The bigger issues are with lag or disconnects at a bad time and abilities not showing up.
Asks SE for content that isn't braindead, gets that content, then complains that they can't easily pair up with a premade so they can clear the content within the first week with less difficulty.
Complains about the average player being bad (rightfully so), then goes on to hinder the average player's ability to queue and get upgrades or experience.
Maybe if your definition of Savage is O6S. Alliance raids with the difficulty of the last two floors would be a terrible waste of resources unless the content creators had nothing else to do.
Finally did BA. Felt like more of a classic MMO style raid rather then 14 style which is 4 boss rooms. Where you have 48 people fight a lot of trash mobs between bosses and you have to be careful cause trash can be dangerous. Kind of felt like alliance raid savage. There is always an element of danger due to the raise restriction. The difficulty is more on par with say EX fights not, and not Final Omega.
If there are more big alliance style raids like this in the feature it would help if SE had tools in game to help players make groups. Like I said before there needs to be like a party finder with 7 parties and you can queue in together. The organization for this type of event is very high and requires a lot of communication. So more in game tools to help make groups would better help out the community.
Iplying the last two floors have much difficulty in them. AV's multiple white/dark splits is basically borrowed from Neo's GCO except without the debuffs to resolve. Showing how organized groups are for BA that isn't really that hard mechanically compared to Savage but all the difficulty lies in organizing 56 people shows players are ready to organize 24-man premades. Reminder the Devs themselves compared BA to savage difficulty, even though its way simpler.
