I do hope you see the irony in that all this can apply to FFXIV as well, right? They don't need to implement them. They can easily write out why we'd never see them even if we go into their woods.

As I specifically said 'The only issue with this game is that the story does sort of call for one - and if not then it calls for one heck of a good explanation and amazing story to explain why they're not where they're supposed to be without making it look half-arsed.'

From my experience, if it's easy to write something out just so you don't have to bother having them - it's half-arsed. If they can do an amazing job and come out with an amazing story, a thrilling reason for why there are ZERO Male Viera NPCs during wartime, in their wood. When the males exist to protect the wood and their people. When we, an outsider are going to go into that wood, to help protect the wood and those people; in all most likely circumstances. If they can DO that. I will clap my hands, I will bow down. I will be the biggest whale in existence, I will be the slave to the mog station. I will buy all of the fantasias and become the bara cat.

And if they don't, that's their loss for crap storytelling. I really don't know how many times and in different ways I can say it.
