Even in game its truewhile what your saying is technically true in real world application it's nonsensical
You could go into a dungeon as a dps, have every single drop in the dungeon be dps gear, and walk away without a single usable item
That is in no way better than the same situation for a tank or healer
for what your trying to argue to be a real problem there would have to be something like MNK/SAM gear is internally coded to drop at 400% the rate of other sets
Lets say you have box with 5 different candys and 1 pop tart and 1 jerky
.
You have a 5/7 chance to get candy you might not like the 1 you get much but regardless you got candy.
Now lets say a man wants a pop tart more that man has a
1 and 7 chance
Let's use your own math for you then.
You're still wrong because you're lumping all DPS together in this. If a SAM and BLM are in the party and a BRD armor drops, guess who wins in that situation?
Just admit this is a thread to vent because you aren't getting what you want, and stop trying to twist maths to your ends for it.
Its not lol its factsLet's use your own math for you then.

A dps has a 5 in 7 chance vs
A 1 in 7 chance for the other 2 roles
Numbers dont lie lol
Someone is ignoring pretty critical information given that the different varieties of DPS are basically their own rolls for how the game treats them. It ends up as Tank vs. Healer vs. Striking vs. Aiming vs. Casting vs. Scouting vs. Maiming.
At this point I'm honestly convinced this is a troll thread. That or the OP is purposefully being blind.

We're not the WoD from the ShadowBringer trailer, DPS can't switch classes mid fight and snipe the loot.
Your not using an accurate representationEven in game its true

and at this point I will no longer respond because you literally said the chances for 5 out of 7 is 9 out of 10 in the same post so it's clearly troll
You are constantly using this concept of DPS set as though they are all the same thing
There is no "DPS set" and you keep lumping them together like they are all the same
A bard can't use any set except the Aiming set, they only have 1:7 odds to get it. Not a 5:7 red marble or candy like you claim
A Monk can't use anything except striking, they only have 1:7 odds to get it
A WAR can't use anything but fending, they have 1:7 odds to get it
It's not a bag with 5 red marbles, 1 green, and 1 blue
It's seven different colors
It's not a situation of getting "candy you might not like" It's a 1:7 chance of getting something that you can even eat at all no matter what job you are
Even if a dps doesnt get the item they need for the exact job the chances they will get it is still 5 out of 7. That is math maybe you should retake math class?Someone is ignoring pretty critical information given that the different varieties of DPS are basically their own rolls for how the game treats them.
