I knew it wasn't permanent. I'm griping about the writers that continually elevate her to a place of importance when she's not actually doing anything for the story. She's got more power of the "chosen one/main character" than we, the PCs do - but we've actually earned ours. She just gets it because the writers give it to her.

My prediction is that she's going to be received with tears and amazement and gratitude, she'll spend most of her time uttering cryptic nonsense and fluttering about "the mother", she'll get into at least one terrible scrape (because she's innocent and vulnerable) that people get hurt/worse to rescue her from - and in the end she'll either "make another sacrifice" with a martyr-like countenance, or someone (Thancred) will try to sacrifice themselves for her as if it were worth losing a seasoned fighter over a 6 year old we constantly have to spend resources to protect for no good reason.

It especially irks me that Thancred and her mother idolize her out of guilt of their own past actions, of depriving her of her father, unintentionally... she's far from the only one in the game who has lost someone, so can we give it a rest? Especially as she was a grown woman who needed to be carrying herself, not being carried (except when she suddenly magically has Hydaelyn's powers because of course she does.) And even if she's a child now, she should still have the mind of an adult; if this is, instead, alternative past events then why does she get the chance to atone for her past worthlessness when we've seen other people eat what Fate gave them no matter how absolutely unfair it was.
