All these theories are very interesting. I personally believe she would be 'reincarnate' from the light as a new child person with no prior knowledge of her past but retain her echo or connection to the light. Furthermore, the devs would probably make her the key person in upcoming 'msq', someone that need to be protected from 'whatever' chasing and trying to destroy her. I don't believe she would be quest giver, if anything she would be the quest itself.

The smile she gives Thancred seems too... knowing for me to think it isn't just a form she needed to take to return to the Source. It makes it seem like she knows he isn't going anywhere, because she knows him.

Or that she is totally going to murder us all and Thancred switches sides when as Warriors of Darkness we are now in fact, challenging the Hydaelyn. Just, we are not quite "ascians" neither, we gotta do this, without messing with Zodiark.
Unless Zodiark is totally trapped and being actually the victim here and Hydaelyn has just being toying with us all this time...

There is the theory of duality too: Light and Darkness have both good and bad sides (having a bit of darkness and light inside like in a ying-yang also relates both to an equilibrium of "alligment"). If this is the case we could perfectly say there 4 teams:

Astral goddies! - Us, the mother crystal, our allies "in general".
Umbral gooddies! - WoD/Arbert troupe, some voidsents?, us in our future as WoD.
Astral baddies! - The "lightspawns/angels (seven hevens)", maybe Hydaelyn herself is here?, maybe there is a variety of "Ascians" (no, not the scions) trying to tip other reflections towards the light too.
Astral baddies! - The voidsents, other demons (seven hells), ascians are clearly here and so is zodiark if what we know so far about the source is true: That bringing back absolute balance will end all life in the uni/meta/multiverse.

And there is honestly many more. We are not even sure if WE are time traveling anyway.

What if this is not Minfilia or, at least, "our" Minfilia.
I mean, we have been told about parrallel universe so, my guess would be a Minfilia from another shard and, considering how much Thancred loved her and was devastated by her "death", he kind of "replace" her and see this one as the original Minfilia, thus keeping the promies he made to protect her.

Could be interesting, she could have a personnality completely different, we could even imagine her as the Word of Zodiarc, manipulating Thancred and trying to bring the Dakness using him and us ^^

I'd actually prefer if it was ours.. even if she had amnesia or something.
The body double storyline is hard to pull off effectively, and it tries to use attachment to an old character to create fake attachment to a new one. I'd much rather have our Minfilia back and they do more to make her a more personable and active character in the xiv story; or a completely new character that just reminds Thancred of Minfilia but is not the new universe version of her, but even then, that's just a step away from the body double.
