2-Gaming may be almost by definition a waste of time but it's also supposed to be fun.

1: Correct, and once I start paying my expectations in 1.21 will be higher then ever. If I don't like it, or it isn't enough 'fun' to justify my cost of paying, i'll cancel my subscription until it is.

2: Correct again. Why play a game if it's not fun? For me, FFXIV is fun because i have friends that make it that way. There is enough things to keep us loling for the moment. IF you are not having fun, then by all means, do NOT pay for this. And instead, play another game that is fun. At least until they make it worth justifying the cost for you.

SE needs to face the fact that most of their current and potential customers are not OCD and have lots of alternatives when it comes to having fun.

Yeah, SE has been working real hard these past months to drive everyone who isn't a complete fanboy away, the funny thing is all the fanboys combined won't make this game profitable.

But I doubt SE made these boards only so people who think everything is alright can tell them so.

Lots of people seem to hate this "dungeon" where you don't really fight much, only walk around really slowly.

even when it comes to little things like allowing people to swap servers or asking to merge the VERY empty ones, those fanboys act like you just insulted their mothers....its kind of sad.

No I'm not saying that. They could have made it better and more enjoyable for sure. Although I did enjoy the initial puzzle of figuring the stuffs out, I would have liked fun aggroing mobs in that zone. So you would have NMs and mobs to fight through with the new fighting stuff.

I believe that anyone whom takes the time to post on a game-specific forum is a fan of some sort. And I'm not giving SE any cookies. My expectations for 1.21 are very high. Not to mention the start of billing, but all of the patches and changes so far lead into this one. This recent one didn't have much in the way of content and things to do, but the entire way you play is changed. I have a LOT of beefs for this game, like why cant i sell my junk in bulk? Not one item at a time?

My point originally was that I don't think 1.2o was a waste of time. UNLESS 1.21 does suck. If it does, then no one has to pay for it. I think that the game-play, structure, and UI changes of the previous patches are leading/pointing to the jobs and content in 1.21.

There still isn't much to do besides time-sink Moogie in this one, BUT a lot of the game changed for the better. When i logged on after more then a year of playing after this recent patch, it has felt like a totally new game for me.
