    I think all of the technical additions of this patch are exactly what this game needs. Now if only we could finally get a level increase and some new jobs and we may actually have a game here. Oh, and more people playing it. Way more. Like a few 100k more.

    there is a fine line between "challenging" and "cheap". SE tends to think the "cheap = challenge" half the time. They need to work on balance, but they just as badly need more content to balance.

    thats my point. Challenging, means different things to different players. My point is a great many complain with one line post thats like a bulletin bash of a particular issue and offer no idea, thought, or concept of an alternative. When you offer no idea, just a bashing complain, then your subject to the ideas the devs come up with.

    Take this thread for example.

    Patch 1.20 is pretty good to be honest but there is one HUGE letdown in it. That would be the achievements. They aren't rewarding at all. They aren't challenging either. Kill X, Gather X, Spiritbond X, Craft X is horrible. I was looking forward to lots of achievement hunting but that is not worth the effort.

    On the up side Nael Van Darnus is a BEAST, and I am diggin the hell out of combos.

    I personally like nearly everything about 1.20 and am very impressed by the work they put in. Unfortunately I dont think I will get more than 1 win on the King Moggle. idk about your servers but it took hrs to get the ki just from the sheer compitition and death by link aggro. Some ls were avoiding links by going at it without being in a pt which means they were taking 8-12 spawns. -yuck-

    So there is no way really we can just go out and kill the nm in the 15 wait between. Not when you have so many ppl recycling the nm for ki. After it settles down a bit I may try again but I dont have 3-4 hrs to get 1 round of ki for each win. Esp when you need 20 charms to get a weapon. that would be 80 hrs just on ki hunting alone for a single weapon. Hello FFXI I thought I left abyssea months ago.

    I have other stuff to do in-game tho so Im not worried

    The only real problem with the moogle fight key item NM's is the wierd add-on aggro that SE still has listed as a known bug. If they would have fixed it, first then added the key item content, it would be smoother and more fun. It does seem however, that once we learn how to be efficient at farming the key items, we can do it quickly in the 15 min cooldown window between fights.

    The class changes overall seem very good, and are a refreshing change. I was really worried about CNJ but they finally made it work the way I thought it should work when I opened my game box originally.

    THM MP is fine too. I know that they can 'blow their load' quick BUT it's either that, or each nuke needs to cost less and hit for less. Again, we'll need to re-learn classes and battle strategies, but THM's will end up being in demand soon. The potential is there. (and if not, the devs will adjust thm's stats/spell costs to make it so)

    The game is getting better each patch. We all just get frustrated because not every 'better' is best for us personally. Do I really want to have to re-rank CUL for a gold frypan? No. But soon I'll have new recipes to play with and THEN I will . As long as I can be patient and wait, I can earn my frypan and have fun.

    Now all I really need to have lots of fun is for the players to come back...

    I'm not lazy for disliking this system any more than an assembly line worker is lazy for disliking a job where they attach buttons to ten thousand shirts a day. Serious players understand how many farm kills this would take to get everyone what they want, and it's in all likelihood in excess of a hundred. We might be able to stomach that on its own. We did much more than that on Ifrit, although being asked to do it all over again is a bit painful. However, when you tell us that now we have to repeat the forest walk over a hundred times, and we can't even stockpile multiple pop sets like we could with tapers, that's what's so frustrating. It was a neat quest the first time, but doing it for every kill turned it into a menial chore.

    Then there's the insult of the token system. Yeah, it's more than we had, but coupled with the increased pop requirements the charm drop rate relative to the moogle weapon price is incredibly poor and doesn't adequately address the problem we had with Ifrit weapons last time.

    There are a few ways I can think of to remedy this:
    • Let us somehow stockpile extra keystone sets so we can dedicate one block of time to farming pop sets and another to farming the fight itself. Constantly shifting between 2 things over and over greatly increases tedium.
    • Significantly reduce the number of trees to improve visibility, reduce GPU strain, and cut back on some of that tedious tiptoeing.
    • After the first time, let us re-key by killing a single NM instead of all 5 again (great oak would be fine, since it's the farthest away but also one of the least annoying to fight).
    • Increase the token drop rate and/or decrease the weapon prices.

    I'm a little tired of the "if you don't like it you can get out" attitude. Sure, every little thing in the game has been complained about, but that doesn't mean that every single complaint is without merit. It's an MMO developer's job to mask time sinks and cushion the tedium as best they can. SE is having trouble with that concept right now.
