Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I think this means they officially gave up on Original Content. So which tournament fanservice bs will our regular raids be...
As long I get some nice music scrolls from there for my home, I gladly hammer that raid.
Nier's OST was amazing.
This Raid storyline better make people question the meaning of life just like Nier series did.
Now I'll be preparing my emotional corner for the tears if they do this right.
I'm going to be quite honest...the Void Ark storyline was their "original content" and it was, to me, fairly underwhelming from start to finish. Crystal Tower and Ivalice were both ideas taken from other games and they were great. I'm fine with them NOT doing original content from 24 man raids.
Hydaelyn is amazing enough... Why is there a need to break it apart both in and outside lore. Aside just serving as glorified marketing that is...?
Don't get me wrong, i know Nier is amazing and we all love it, but Nier is Nier, Final Fantasy XIV should take that XIV a bit more seriously, is after all a main entry. And is starting to feel like it has less and less of "original".
"Until our friend returns."
We might be leaving Eorzea for good, or at least our version of it.... To go and be a Warrior of Darkness somewhere else. A perfect justification to split everything even further, as Hydaelyn is starting to feel less like a universe and more like a metaverse. Are we some forgotten library of Record Keeper?
Sorry, this is just sad.
We could be going to Meracydia, visit Tavnair, explore Nagxia, Dalmasca proper, there is a lot of areas we haven't really explored in Eorzea itself. We could go to the north towards Garlemald, we could go towards sharlayan, there is always the northern isles and aside Meracydia to the southern emisphere (i think it's above the equator?) and the whole new world thats aparently being reached by both eorzean and othardian explorers from two completely diferent coasts.... Hydaelyn looks really cool on it's own. Ivallician architecture was familiar enough for most of us, and it was reinterpreted in a good way which was basically only thanks to it being so closely tied to the main story towards the end... I think it was good but shouldn't be repeated, maybe it should keep as our fill of Final Fantasy "fan servicing" good enough already, lets be XIV.
The Binding Coil, Crystal Tower were both praised as very indepth related to our lore, and the emotional bagage of Bahamut and it's fitting in XIV is just too much. We will probably get anything like that again.
Void Ark tried to be Hydaelyn, and i honestly loved it, all voidsent stuff is amazing really and i feel like we could be exploring all those avenues a lot more. But it also was underwhelming in many aspects, because exploration is a huge part in RPGs. And exploring whole "regions" as small, time limited duties, is bad in general... We need more exploration, more maps.
Hydaelyn is huge, we should be exploring what we have instead of giving our backs to that and fighting things that are so alien... No matter the writting mind you, it's just so unfitting... I'm so torn with this whole expansion.

That still stayed within the Final Fantasy mythos though. Now we're going totally "oh we can't be arsed to make a raid, let's get another franchise to do it for us". This is just an other level of magnitude in which SE will not make any effort to bring something new to XIV. Hell, let's bring back Diadem again for 5.1x!I'm going to be quite honest...the Void Ark storyline was their "original content" and it was, to me, fairly underwhelming from start to finish. Crystal Tower and Ivalice were both ideas taken from other games and they were great. I'm fine with them NOT doing original content from 24 man raids.
I think this Nier Raid may dive into the lore about how FF14 world is connected to other Square Enix game worlds.
Cross-over events show this by how beings from other worlds would end up in FF14 world but why is there even a "door" into FF14 world remains a mystery and why until now we only start accessing this "door" now for us to enter the other alternate worlds that parallel FF14 world beyond the shards.
You guys totally should, the game is awesome. Not sure about how the raid in FFXIV will play out thought.
