I'm going to be quite honest...the Void Ark storyline was their "original content" and it was, to me, fairly underwhelming from start to finish. Crystal Tower and Ivalice were both ideas taken from other games and they were great. I'm fine with them NOT doing original content from 24 man raids.
That still stayed within the Final Fantasy mythos though. Now we're going totally "oh we can't be arsed to make a raid, let's get another franchise to do it for us". This is just an other level of magnitude in which SE will not make any effort to bring something new to XIV. Hell, let's bring back Diadem again for 5.1x!I'm going to be quite honest...the Void Ark storyline was their "original content" and it was, to me, fairly underwhelming from start to finish. I actually liked The Void Ark Raid...And CT and Ivalice worked because they all used mythos, lore and characters from past games and altered the story a bit to fit within the world of FFXIV.I'm going to be quite honest...the Void Ark storyline was their "original content" and it was, to me, fairly underwhelming from start to finish. ^^This...so much this...
Yeah because all the things with Shadowbringers and the WoL turning into the WoD as well as the insanity surrounding everything going on right now in the story isn't original content, right?

It is, but is not even close to be enough. And there is not certainty that it will remain so. If anything, Stormblood is a testament as to how far the game can go following meaningless characters, developments and plot threads that work only to fan service the franchise and as like marketing.
"The will of my friends has etched into my heart, and now ill transform this infinite darkness into eternal light
Unmatched in heaven and earth, one body and one soul that challenge the gods!"
Look the MSQ has to be original, else the main selling point of the game would be moot. But is it too much to ask that the creativity goes further than just bare minimum? I don't mind bosses being other notable creatures/bosses from other FF games. So many designs of the original RPGs you can expand on to give a new dimension to their abilities. But taking a cornerstone of your patch content and just giving it to another universe goes too far.

It is obviously inspired by Nier Automata and is certainly fanservice first and foremost. However, we don't know how this will relate to the FF XIV universe yet so I think people need to chill.Look the MSQ has to be original, else the main selling point of the game would be moot. Except we have past experience to go off of. Look at Crystal tower and Return to ivalice. In both instances, those worlds were shoehorned into the XIV universe. Dalmasca is now a place in Othard, and Xande cloud of darkness are major plot points in the Allagan storyline, which are both tied into the MSQ. Once is fine, but they keep doing it, and watering down the world of XIV. Bahamut and Alexander were good examples of taking classic elements and making them XIV unique, but the 24mans have literally remade another world in XIV and it takes me right out of the game
