...ick, I just realized that means they'll be jumping into Sirensong. Just thinking about those pulls after the first boss fills me with dread.

It's one of the new jobs of the expansion, it would be really backwards to force someone to grind old content for days before jumping in to the new stuff. 60 is fine, its feasible to grind that to 70 within a day or two at the most.
As for tank performance, in my experience, new tanks are usually pretty open about being new to the role, and are generally more open to advice.
Guys. This stuff is tentative. Means it can change till release. Don't jump to conclusions early. lets wait for the live letters / last fan fest in japan
I'd rather them put it at 60 least for me that way I can jump in and learn how to use OGCDs, how to use all the tank abilities from the get go, have DRK at 30 was okay but we still had DRKs running around at like 50+ who learned nothing from their job and didn't have Darkside up 100% of the time. I'm sure they'll lock it behind the SB MSQ so you can't do it till after.
Y'all acting like it's going to be complicated or something lol tanking isn't rocket science.....insert gun tank stance, insert 2 CDs one being stronger then the other, insert aoe enmity skill, insert 1 2 3 enmity combo, insert 123 dps combo! Like comon lol and one wants to level up in old a$$ content
I agree. SAM/RDM unlocking at level 50 made a lot of sense to me, because one could easily go into post-ARR (2.x) with it, straight into HW. The transition seemed really smooth. If they design Gunbreaker in the same manner, where you can unlock it at level 50 or after completing ARR’s main expansion, it seems a bit illogical to make it level 60 when you still have to go through 2.x and HW’s main expansion.
I’m really hoping they don’t do something really dumb and force you be level 60 or to complete the main scenario quest “Heavensward” to unlock it.
They could just do it like RDM/SAM. They were SB’s new jobs, but they still started at 50 and people could do 2.x and HW on them into SB. I don’t see why the ShB jobs should be too terribly different. It’s not like EXP is hard to come by in this game.

The main problem I see is that syncing down to level 50 or lower will result in Gunbreaker having virtually no skills at sll.
Especially as a tank, as queues are non-existent for them.
And I rather have them get a bunch of levels first to get to know the job before they delve into the current content.
It's going to be the exact same thing that happened with DRK and AST on HW:
- People that don't play tanks are going to try it out, remember why they don't like tanks and never touch it again.
- People that don't play tanks are going to try it out, realize they do like tanking and try to learn how to play it.
- People that play tanks are just going to further increasing their job options.
Yes, it has potential to be bad on a couple of runs, but I'm pretty sure people that never tanked before and have no idea of what they are doing aren't very secure or comfortable with the idea of hoping on a lvl 60 dungeons anyways, so they will most likely try to get a feel for the job through Palace of the Dead or Heaven on High.
