Healer Horror Stories: Redux

I hop on my lvl 33 astrologian and get brayflox's longstop in duty roulette. The warrior tank kept turning defiance on and off for some unknown reason and couldn't hold enmity for S**t. On top of that he had bad gear and i had to spam heals left and right not only on keep him alive be everyone else because he could hold enmity. We made it to the last boss and for some idiotic reason he's spinning the boss around and getting poison everywhere hurting us, himseld and healing the boss. And of course we die because i ran out of mp because of the constant heal spamming. I left and glad i did. I don't mind healing, but crap like this makes me wanna heal less and less.

To be fair, the tank has no control over the turning and the poison pool placement on that fight. The boss turns and spits poison at a random non-tank. It's up to the rest of the party to position themselves properly and not let poison get everywhere. (Though it is the tanks job to move out of pools if necessary.)

Had to bail on a Burn run the other night. Tank looked well geared but was taking ridiculous damage, to the point he would nearly die if I had to spare a cast for topping off one of the 2 melee DPS who seemed to be rather intimate with circles on the ground. Trash pulls lasted what seemed like an eternity and there was absolutely no chance of me speeding things up with Holy, the guy was pulling like a beast and even with 3 mobs on him required constant spam heals... With 10+ mobs you do the math! Anyway.. I found out that the Mist dragon can dive bomb 3 or more times, until that night I had only ever seen one dive bomb. The tank was getting near 1 shotted on each tankbuster and the DPS hit by every fog plume. Needless to say after a few wipes I apologised for being a bad healer and left the group... Haven't played WHM since and will probably never solo queue again!

Sounds like you had bad dps in that party, which isn’t something you can always control. Pug life can be harsh.

My last Healer horror story :
Me as AST with a PAL and I can't remember the two DPS.
The PAL don't wait for the shield, run like mad and grab all the pack without shield oath. Wipe.
I text "Stance pls" (I'm on PS4)
"What ?
"Shield oath pls" (I was polite)
He put oath shield and rush one more time.
I keep him alive by using all the cast I can launch but my mp bar is only at 1/3. And he engages the first boss.
"use CD please" (still polite...) coz I never saw him using once.
He replied "maybe or not"
I stepped ou of the arema just before being locker in and send to the party "Don't try to speed run if you don't know how to do it properly" and quit.
OMG the TANKS this days...

Not as a healer, but doing leveling roulette and get aurum vale with a whm.
Never uses cooldowns, never uses regen, never eats the molboro fruit, wipe twice on the first boss.

Putting aside everything else he isn't doing, I just say he should be using regen.
I'm ignored.

Later when this happens at the coincounter as well I really stress that he should be using regen cause it's one of their best as well as most efficient healing spells.

I was on duty roulette, and I got AURUME VALE. Oh my god I wanted to cry, but the party didn't wipe, it was a miracle because the people who where in the party didn't care about poison and eating the fruits. I think it's the last time I do this dunjon because I can't stand this level of stress.

These moments of stress are what forge you into a good healer
Mine were awful runs on Bardam's Mettle and Doma Castle, where each pull was stress inducing.

And now I let people die without any anxiety. (lol)
