Crafting requirements.

OP take a good look at the images below. Look long and hard at the lvl 50 4 star!! Hate to break it too you, but lvl 50 4 star gear is not worth it. One extra materia slot and One extra stat are not worth the time,effort and gil need to craft them to NQ or HQ or even try. That lvl 51 White is cheaper and eaiser to craft to NQ or HQ and can be done a lot quicker.

Crafting leve items to HQ while leveling is not easy and requires more then just slapping on HQ crafting gear. You need melds, overmelds, a good rotation along with food and medicine, other crafting classes have skills that make hitting HQ easier so leveling them is advised. You can craft HQ leves with the lvl 51 stuff but you will have to due what I just mentioned. Also getting 4 star AAR crafting gear or HW 2 star crafting gear now is pointless and waste of time!!

Umm the artisan gear is better then the 50 4 star and easier to get IMO. The chest has 107 craft. 35 control and 2 CP, better then the 51 gear which has 92 craft and 30 control even HQ it's only 105/34. IF you don't have every craft at 51 already you wont over meld it. Since it's I level 65 the best you can meld into it is a 4. Even if you meld 4s the best you can get is 107....So the 50 greens are better then the 51s Unless you can manage to get HQ and even then you don't meet the recommended crafting stats for level 51 crafts....... There is no level 51 arm for crafting BTW so the best you're gonna do (without having to grind through hours of content that you're better off ignoring because you can level through it to 52 faster then grinding to get the 90 arms) is the artisan. Yes you can level past it really quickly which is my point the I level 90 stuff is a waste of time. So streamline it. It's pointless and most new people ignore it.

The best level 50 combat gear (Augmented Ironworks) is a lot better than any of the level 51 stuff.
That is the case all over the line - the top-end gear at old level caps is a good deal better than the gear you can get at the next few levels. This is true for crafting, gathering, and battle gear.
This is fully intentional and in no way a problem.

Yes this is true but you cant get the I level 90 crafting as easily as you can the 120 ironworks. If crafting were streamlined like combat between ARR and HW as I'm suggesting then we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Except it doesn't need streamlining. Lvl 50 players don't need to jump to lvl 51 recipes right away, there's lvl 50 ones to craft mats, needed to craft stuff past that. Use a crafting manual for bonus exp while doing so.
There's also GC turn ins, which will always be ARR recipes at 50 (and a few lvls after). Once they hit 51, they'll be at the recipe's lvl, making it so they no longer get that penalty on being lower than the recipe's lvl.

Also, you're probably focusing a bit too much on the Recommended stats. They're not a requirement, else the game wouldn't even allow the player to start the craft.

But you're probably gonna say that crafting to gain exp is somehow not fun for all these new players.

You are the only one seeing a problem.
Sure, it is true that level 51+ recipes are hard to make HQ unless you yourself have at least the same level as the recipe and have good gear. So what? There is no need to make them HQ at that point.
Yes, it is a bit of a speed bump for crafters during levels 51-53 or so, but it is not a problem as such. You can easily level up by handing in NQ items for GC turn-ins and levequests, until you can get and equip level 52/53 gear - much of which can be easily obtained as HQ from levequest rewards.

Alright my mistake on something here forgot there are two types of Artisan gear. Crafted and the one from the vendor :P The vendor one I would not bother with better stats or not, as the rng at trying to hit HQ on the items required for turn in could end up costing you Hundreds of thousands of gil. Then again getting Master book 2 at level 50 can cost same if your not lucky or lacking on leveling up all crafting classes. The 51 gear is pretty much aimed at players who didnt get the Artisan gear or started the game after ARR. Fieldcraft 3 demateria on my realm is going for 27k a piece and you need 2 of them to craft one turn in item. For most new players that is a lot of gil too just be tossing out there in the hopes of success on the first try.

As someone already pointed out once you hit level 53 or so on any crafter the gear you find is better then Artisan, that is without crafting to HQ or melding.

It's no longer "end game" so it should have been streamlined and brought into line with the flow of ARR. There's this HUGE difficulty spike for people trying to level crafting 50-60 (ARR level 50 recommends 178. HW recommends 478). There is no point in going after the I level 90 gear when in 3 levels it's going to be useless but you almost NEED the I level 90 stuff to HQ level 50 leve items. When HW was "end game" that served a purpose. With SB it doesn't.

If they did streamline it, You would still need to the cross classes skills which means leveling up all crafters. At level 50 you dont have specialist ablities so hitting HQ on a level 50 leve without cross class skills becomes very hard. You have all crafters above 50 without even trying it out you should know how hard and frustrating it would be.
