Crafting requirements.

Argue all you want isn't going to change the fact that crafting is pointless until you've nothing left to do in the game.

That is completely wrong.
Crafting is not very useful for gearing up your main class/job while leveling, true. It is not needed for that though since you get all the gear you need for your main class from quest rewards while leveling.
Crafting is every useful for gearing up your second/third/etc class though. And it is useful even for your main job since it can save you so much gil in repair costs, as well as letting you do your own melding of materia.
