Unless is the absolute revolution that is gonna bring back to life the MMORPG genre from its ashes, bigger than World of Warcraft "questing". I would hardly call this a "Masterpiece of Game Design".

Unless i'm wrong and im losing on the best gaming experience since Nier Automata and God of War.

    -----

This is the problem with the community at large. Some would praise every step of the DevTeam as it was gospel revealed and will completely ignore any (even the devs saying themselves they were not so "ok" with some content... see people that still defends Pagos, and Eureka as a whole) fault, or people that just puts its finger on a issue, be it small (let's say... lack of some party options on Mahjong) or huge (no ultrawide cutscene support in 2019, graphics on PC in general, the state of huge chunks of dead content...) and claim the game is doomed (It's making money so no, is not, sigh these people...) when indeed both are: Wrong.

Also, for me is kinda nice to see the cultural differences between east and western players, and even if we, western players are indeed the majority the game must be made so it can be played, enjoyed and be meaningful to both. I'll bring mahjong again since is new: For us westeners, mahjong is barely a game in our win install, yet for eastern countries, mahjong is one of the most popular and played "board games", like we play Chess, Poker, Dominoes, etc. For those countries these addition must be nothing short of great, for us, most of us is probably scratching their head and wondering why a GS mini game can last up to 1 hour as if it was a 24man raid.

See, that's the issue, and i bet BLU will be referenced in any both ways across the boards and boards of micro communities. Thus, i suggest everyone from not taking anyone's word, not even mine, and just try it for yourself. If you found a good argument on as to why BLU is either good or bad, please bring it to the boards. Do not just call it "terrible, literally unplayable, worst class ever, blahblahblah" or "the greatest class ever introduced, masterpiece of game design, revolutionary, blehblehbleh" Without an argument for that. The closest this game was to be a "Masterpiece" was during the 1.0 to 2.0 transition, the whole thing went down into gaming's history. Yet it had more to do with the whole franchise than just FFXIV, and even if it was only FFXIV was not really about it's concepts, designs or game related stuff, but mostly about the history of the devs and the whole production process, not the product itself. Well. Must be someone that thinks FFXIV is the greatest videogame ever made...
    After trying it.

I like it, i think is a fun concept and if the carnival is any good (as into, carefully programed and not just randomly generated) it could be amazing. Yet i also think, this design is way too "solo" oriented, along the squadrons and the future trust system.... And probably other exclusive classes added with similar focus, i think is to early in the life cycle of this game to be implimenting this kind of features. Then again, only SE whats the reason behind this.

All i know, is that translating the "Blue Mage" to an MMORPG so strict and limited by its roles and their performance as this one, was not possible in this current form. Either the blue mage would have had to be changed too much to be considered "The Blue Mage" or the game would have needed a whole different balance between roles, maybe this iteration of Blue Mage of FFXIV, would work on dungeon/raid/competitive/pvp environments more openly if we had a fourth role of supporters and enfeebler classes (role that is spreaded through our trinity in the form of the role skills) or we had hybrid roles like DPS/healers or Tank/Healers (again, we kinda have this, but still severely limited) but both were unavailable i guess.

Maybe this is the future to not alter the (in my honest opinion, limiting and punishing to both players and design) "perfect balance" persuit of the devteam for our game classes. Solo oriented classes that don't really intervine "multiplayer classes" on more competitive/performance focused content and have their own, separate, with consideration more vertical progress.

Then again, is also not that solo at the moment that is.... But mostly because we all jumping wagons, as guides get written, videos exposed and the hype fades, let say, 2 weeks. It will probably be a very solo gameplay oriented class.

This is so good and so bad. But if anything, i'd say: Too Early.

After 14 runs of Aurum Vale and not getting Glower, I realized I am extremely unlucky and this job will bring me nothing but frustration. Got it to 50, won't touch it much more.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Acorn Toss and Bad Breath, bosses might be immune to Self Destruct tho...
Definitly doable, as I got my skill solo. Assuming you are 50 with i130 gear.
    - Self Destruct is good but not necessary. It allows you to kill trash faster. (Toad Oil and Bristle are mandatory for the combo. Moon Flute and Peculiar Light can also help tremendously.)
    - Final Sting, is also good and can allow you to kill specific trash (such as the morbol after the first boss), or finish the first boss quickly. (Off-guard -> Bristle -> Final Sting is the base. Moon Flute can also be useful if you have it.)
    - 1000 Needles loses its appeal once you're level 50, as you'll do more DPS simply by spamming regular skills with Off-guard applied.
    - White Wind is mandatory. You cannot pass the first boss without it, and would have "some" trouble with the second.
    - Mighty Guard is pretty much useless, as it cuts too much attack power from you.

The first boss is the hardest. I recommand using a fruit at only 1 stack, 2 max. Otherwise, it'll slowly drain your HP, thus your MP from using White Wind. And since you pretty much have to use it every time the cleave happens, that's already demanding. Other than that, just avoid every AoE, keep Off-guard applied all the time and spam your main skill (which may very well be Water Cannon).
You can try doing a Final Sting combo upon entering the arena in order to see directly how much health you take from the boss. This will allow you to kill it on the second pull with that skill.

The second boss casts a lot. You can easily avoid everything as long as you stay under him and just pass through him whenever he casts something. EXCEPT for Swing. You need to avoid that at all cost, or you're dead.

As for trash mobs, just take it slow (skill spam or Final Sting them one by one), or use the Self-Destruct combo. Remember that you can sleep them to give you time.

I've done Atmas and the Zodiac Braves' steps. I'm immune.

We will see how successful this minigame is after a few weeks.
There will be still latecomers, but who will help those people out to farm their dungeon/trial skills?
Friends but how many times can you ask them to help you out getting your skill?
Random players? Well good luck finding people that would sacrifice their time.
People forget that new content gets burned out pretty fast, and its pretty obvious that they sacrificed a whole job to create another sort of mount, minion, orchestrion, ttcard and now monster skills grind (soon monsters itself aka beasttamer) instead of a simple mini game mode where you gain a stance/transformation and you can do it as any job.

Does anyone know if Snort works with Deep Freeze? As in knocks back but the enemies remain frozen.

Even assuming, which is a massive reach, that everyone did read this: what’s to stop people from ignoring it either because they’re trolling you with spoilers or because they find the channels they already use more convenient? You’re not going to get this spoiler-free environment you’re asking for by asking nicely. Short of actively screening every chat message before it goes to your chat window, they cannot prevent it.
You know, theres an option you can hide anything thats text message from yell to shout in the chat window. OwO So if your seeing spoilers, its your fault, not other players. Especial not SE's fault.

Nonsense. Shout is a necessary tool for finding groups from Eureka to BLU, Hunts are announced via Shout too, and to a lesser extent, Yell and Say. To hide any of these means to risk gimping your experience of the game and missing vital communication.
The only person who's fault it is for spoiling things, is the person spoiling it.

To a lot of people, the shout you refer to as 'spoiling' is as helpful as the other shout-types you mentioned. It's very subjective. Therefore it's up to every person to decide what they prefer - to get 'spoiled' and benefit from the rest of those boons, or avoid spoilers and miss out on everything else. It's not one's job to censor your chat channel in this game but yours.

gotta remember this content becomes unlocked when people beat the 2.0 story w/o even buying the expansions. newish players will still be doing this content for the first time for a long time coming.

I have to argue that Flying Sardine is the single best ability in the game. Silences? check. Instant cast? check. Hilarious? hell yeah.
