A dedicated channel for blue mage talk? Along with an announce in-game with the blue mage message (the purple one, when you log on)? On my server, we kept the novice network spoiler free for the MSQ, so player "moderation" works. Just redirect the people to the dedicated channel when needed and in no-time, everyone will use it. They could have even spoken about this channel at the end of the blue mage quest so that a lot knew about it.
This is just one possibility among others. You're being way too sarcastic on what I said and thus you forgot to think about the possibilities. Sad.

I don't think you get what I mean. I never said I wanted SE to actively police and/or ban everyone and everything, but if you put guidelines, or tools, there are many more possibilities that arise. The first one is player "moderation", you can safely ask someone to keep the talk more private if it's also SE's will. But yeah, let's say it prevents exchange between players, I understand this could be an issue. Then move on to the next solution, tools. If you speak of tools, there's the possibility to have a dedicated chat channel for blue mages discussions with players redirecting each other to it when needed. Not really, considering it's not exactly common for people to go around spoiling the actual story for new players (or those who have yet to complete MSQs). I'd say the community generally does a decent job at not spoiling plots. But maybe you just forgot you're playing an MMO game with hundreds of thousands of other people, and consider it perfectly reasonable to expect SE to actively police all these players and "do something" to punish them for spoiling sacred BLU information.
You guys are too much into "banning", "police", etc. That's not the idea. I indeed dislike the fact that some people were spreading information of the global channels without taking into consideration that it could be a problem for others. But I never said they should be banned, whipped or burned. I know we can't mostly do nothing about this, because, as you said, there are hundreds of thousands of players and all can't think the same way, but at least SE could have done something, in the form of a dedicated chat channel or "guidelines".
And by the way, SE will have to do the police, unfortunately. I had a talk with a GM earlier this afternoon in EU to understand SE's position about the blue mage, and they explained several possibilities where they would open an inquiry, related to the blue mage, including disclosure of information you didn't want to hear (we are not speaking on global channels here, but more someone who directly tells you to kill a mob for a skill, in PM for example) and killing monsters of others while they are waiting for the skill to proc. About global channels, they confirmed to me that they cannot forbid someone to speak about the blue mage on there, but it does not mean they couldn't have done something about this.

Fun yes maybe, more ammusing spamming a single skill to 25'ish, then 6 second cast on single skill to 30'ish & do i mean it, not being sarcastic, time flew, But taking into account trying to grind a dungeon to get a skill YOU NEED to do your level 10 or 20 quest (note NEED! not want). Which you then spend hours spamming & still don't have it. Turns the whole idea of a new fun class in into cancer!
I'd say & from experiance Blue mage is more a poorly thought out novelty idea by the devs (suprise suprise.. not suprised? me eaither), lacking serious intentions of being part of the game & needs to be adjusted to fit in & be able to ..... Well do the required content at a acceptable pace unlike it currently is. They have been called out on failing to properly test content before (titan EX, Coil Turn 5 e.t.c). I dare thats as nice as im willing to put it because my original post was going to be a request for IQ test for everyone involved & anyone who actually likes it... That said that would be pointless Look at the people trying to get the Self Destruct skill, i already have my answer from both sides of the fence. Im not being negative I'm damm serious & its all True, if anyone has an issue with the Truth they should be something about it! rather than false reporting the truth as offensive.
I dunno, doing 20 mob pulls and blowing them up with Self Destruct is a pretty new formula for getting through content![]()
Other jobs then have end game content to go do.
Blu can either do level 50 content for giggles, or the masked carnival. If the masked carnival ends up being a flop then there isn't much left to do. If the masked carnival is great, and they add to the idea as they add more spells and raise the blu level cap, it'll work out.
I gave it a try and reached lvl 14. Nothing that deep but I can already say that this is not that fun for me. Maybe carneval will be fun (and I have nothing against that as content) but right now it feels as boring to level as other jobs. Either you are out of luck and get a bunch of trolls or people who seemingly dont understand how you get the skills (hint: dont kill the monster before it uses it) or you have a monster for yourself, use your worst attacks or auto attack and wait until it does it skills.
I can see it being more fun with all the skills and maybe trying to run dungeons unsychs a certain way (but I can already rush through them with my lvl 70 job if I want something from it) but otherwise for me its nothing but a mini game that I will stop playing after I get every skills and took part of the carneval to see how that is done.
SAD AND BAD!?A dedicated channel for blue mage talk? Along with an announce in-game with the blue mage message (the purple one, when you log on)? I didn’t “forget” anything. But even if you read the MOTD every time you log in, I promise not everyone does. That’s the risk you run when you publish a MOTD with no “real news” every day. It becomes a blur to most people.
Even assuming, which is a massive reach, that everyone did read this: what’s to stop people from ignoring it either because they’re trolling you with spoilers or because they find the channels they already use more convenient? You’re not going to get this spoiler-free environment you’re asking for by asking nicely. Short of actively screening every chat message before it goes to your chat window, they cannot prevent it.
What a surprise, the job is released and its as awful as I said it was going to be.
It's supposed to be a solo job, but you need a skill from Tam-tara Deepcroft to continue job quests very early on. Not to mention the skills acquired from T1 and the Ex Primals...
Questionable skills like Self-Destruct and Final Sting...okay? And some of the skills are different from the actual monster counterparts. So much for them having to be the same.
This "job" was just an attempt to have the overworld appear more active and yet its just filled with salt, whining and crying in shout chat. Glorious.
Literally the only positive I can say about this is how fast the leveling is. But even then, it's locked to 50.
This isn't even going to last a week. But yea sure, its a "masterpiece" lol
