Well, it shares gears and role actions with casters, so its role is defined as ranged magical DPS.

It looks like its a Discipline of Magic with caster DPS role actions, I agree. I'm hesitant to say they coded it as a caster DPS because SE never said it was a "DPS" and only ever said it was a caster. They specifically want out of their way to say it would have caster DPS gear and role actions but didn't say it was a DPS. Which if they came out and said it was a caster DPS from the get go it would have covered BLU's role, gear, and role actions.

I guess to me there's a difference from saying "Its a job that uses caster DPS gear and role actions" and saying "This job is a caster DPS," that's all. Anyways, like I said its all merely speculation as I have no idea how its actually coded in the system.

That's true enough, I suppose. And looking at it again, Hall of Novice is really the key point there as it's a solo role-based duty.
