I dont play paladin, so ill leave class specific advice to MrThinker. Your overall gear level(you indicated 355) is certainly high enough to clear this. I did a character search on you, but it showed your monk data so i couldnt see your PLD set. The thing i wonder is how good your weapon is. While all item slots contribute equally to determining your ilvl, your weapon contributes by far the most to determining your damage output(and everything that goes with it, like hate generation). If(and again, i couldnt look so i dont know) your ilvl is inflated by low "value" slots like jewelry and belt and your weapon is significantly behind then an upgrade to something more current(like the sigma/mendacity weapon for instance) could make all the difference in the world. If this isnt the case then you could try to alter your strategy for the last phase. Taking out the adds reduces her hp, but you can ignore them and just focus on her if thats easier for you. And MrThinker said it, but ill add emphasis. You have a whole suite of tank tools designed to reduce incoming damage. If you arent using them, do so. Every hit you reduce negate or dodge is one more you dont have to worry about healing through. Good luck! This duty IS doable and i have confidence you will join us on the other side of it soon.

Are you getting 5 Holy Spirit casts in the Requiescat buff? Are you making sure to get as much physical damage out while Fight or Flight is up? Do you have Sword Oath on? Are you using Sheltron to enable Shield Swipe as often as possible? Are you pressing your buttons a bit before the global cooldown is done so the skills activate as soon as possible?

Will have to try Requiscat trick when I\'m back on TUE. I do try using Holy Spirit, but like Clemancy it has a 4 second cast time, which makes it useless to me since it does less damage (maybe 3-5k?) than Royal Authority (5-6k) and if you do the Royal Authority in combo, the whole 3 part combo takes less time to perform than Holy Spirit 1x, and does 2-3x as much damage combined (1-2k + 2-3k + 5-6k). If Requiscat allows you to do Holy Spirit with instant cast time like Black Mage\'s tripple cast, though, it may be better as you could do 15-25k in that time vs combo\'s 8-11k in 4-5 sec.

My weapon is IL 300. Not sure if that could be the factor. But again, the damage taken is not really I think the problem. I can do this fight only maybe taking one AOE at most and not even having to use Clemancy at all.

I do have sword oath up and do use Sheltron some but should beating this quest really mean I have to play the class absolutely flawlessly? Idk seems just a bit like a steep curve if I do have to do everything perfectly in optimized times without a single error to even have a shot at it.

When buffed by Requiescat, Holy Spirit spam should do more damage than Flight or Flight buffed Royal Authority combo (should, at least). If incoming damage is not as much a problem, then you can try switching out Shield Oath for Sword Oath, which essentially doubles your auto-attack and doesn't have the damage reduction of Shield (but you dont get the defensive properties either).

Now regarding your weapon ilvl being 300, that MIGHT be a more major problem than you think. As Frizzie said, your mainhand weapon plays the biggest part in your outgoing damage, so trying to make sure it remains 'current' is one of the goals of being lvl 70. You can get ilvl 360 weapons relatively easy nowadays from tomestones (the endgame currency), you just need to run sigmascape v4.0(an 8-man raid) as well to get tokens needed for the exchange. However if you do not want to do normal raids, other options are available. Eureka Anemos can help you get ilvl 355 weapons, and if that is not to your liking you can still get centurio seals from hunts and buy ilvl 330 weapons instead. Alternatively, you can also get HQ crafted weapons of either ilvl 320, 350 or 380 either from the Market Board, a friend who can craft, or yourself if you have leveled and geared crafters. A general rule I like to follow is that the ilvl of my weapon for my main should not be below 15 ilvls of my average ilvl. If it is, I need a major weapon update.

EDIT: Quick note to add that while its good to also get the shield, the SWORD is the more important one.

Killed Hiens guy and guess what still died from those aoe's trying to heal myself fast enough. 2 hits and was dead. I'm just buying jump potion in 5.0 not going waste my time trying to pass impossible fight for me. Never have liked where they force you play as a scion with limited abilities. Sure don't see any echo in the fight to help you out after failing it so many times. Maybe they should add it.

Not trolling when game freezes up in the battle every few seconds. Just like those bad lag spikes in duties. Once game unfreezes I'm about dead or Hien is dead. She is least poplar scion for me never could stand her. Only scion that matters to me is thancred. Maybe once server gets moved won't be getting disconnects and very bad lag spikes anymore. Go to technical support and you will see there is lots of players with same lag and disconnect problems that I have. All they need to do is separate the two battles. So If fail the last part don't have to do first part over again. Don't think that be very hard to fix.

Like others have said, this is a problem on YOUR end; this is not an issue with the duty. I did this on AST and barely had to heal myself during Sadu’s Part, and the part with Y’shtola is incredibly easy. Don’t risk a cast when Magnai is casting if you have 200ms ping. He does two in sequence, so wait for them to pass, and then start nuking him. Manually click Hien if you have to so you can heal him.

If your latency is that bad, invest in a VPN. Mudfish is pay per traffic, and when I signed up I had a small credit applied for free just for signing up. That would be more than enough to reduce your latency by a margin to make this “more doable”.

While I don’t disagree with them separating the two in the future to avoid having to redo both if you fail the one with Magnai, this is far from a hard duty. I did it well after all the hubbub, and I still don’t see where it’s coming from.

Foodie: Feel free to try the optimization strats, as i imagine beating the fight without first doing a gear upgrade would feel very satisfying. But ill second what MrThinker said about the weapon. That i300 is a tad low, and is probly whats holding you back. The 360 weapon would make a ton of difference(4 sigma crystals, 1000 mendacity tomes). If youd prefer to fight for your arms rather then spending the tomes, the weapons from Byakko(ex) are i355 and would put you in the same range. So would the Heaven-on-High i365 for that matter. Plenty of options.

hynaku: Its actually possible that the echo does get added either with todays patch or one of the smaller updates to follow. They do tend to add catch-up mechanisms like that over time.

Just FYI, I did this duty in one go with ilevel 345 as SMN (accidentally forgot to switch to rdm, but it was only 3 ilevels higher). The Burn was before this duty, requires ilevel 340. I can understand lag frustration, but it's usually only in crowded space. Having spare HP potions helps if your class can't heal in time properly. As for playing Y'shtola (or any other NPC), the thumbrule is usually it's not about skills, but strategy. Neutralize Daidukul first then go for Magnai, Daidukul will step aside once you beat him.

I did manage to finally get past the phase w/ the two walls but only by using the Riot Blade / Goring Blade combo as it apparently does DOT when the main skills in Rage of Halone combo do not do any DOT. Still - I get pretty much smacked dead by meteor before I can get her to 1/2 health and/or take out 1 add in the next phase w/ the meteor timer bar thing.

BTW that's a bug - because there is a meteor strike in the phase w/ the 2 walls but NO indicator of the meteor casting like there is in the phase that follows it.

I have done this fight 30 times. 6 tonight. A fight this hard should not be in the MSQ. I'm almost going to have to wait until the next expansion to out itemlevel it when ILs are in the 420s.

I watched your video. My first impression was that this is a troll and now I wished this was one. I would just suggest looking for a basic PLD guide (or I can help you alternatively) because you'll never clear that instance if you only spam Riot Blade over and over and sometimes sit around doing nothing. Also your ilv300 weapon is a major reason too and weapon should be the first and most important piece to upgrade but your rotational problems are the single biggest reason why you can't clear.

That's your path to make this "impossible" fight "possible". Take a training dummy or SSS near Rhalgar's in Fringes and whack going. You should look also join "The Balance" Discord and ask for more help here.
Also just look through your skills again. All of them. Holy Spirit definitely doesn't have a 4 second cast time, but 1.5 which still leaves 1 second for movement and/or skills like Circle of Scorn. Requescath into 5 Holy Spirits is the most powerful tool in your disposal.
