Next time, try looking up your job's DPS rotation. It takes 5 minutes, and would be the equivalent of asking "Hey, where's the door?" in the previously mentioned head-bashing.

We need more quests like this in the main story. Stuff that you can't get carried through. Stuff that makes you play at least somewhat correctly.

That's why they have ultimate and savage duties for those that like hard content. I failed it a lot times and gave up on it from really bad lag I get in there. Never been able to pass scion npc part from lag I get.

Really, that part was the easiest of the whole quest. Just ignore Hiens manly comments and nuke his enemy while dodging/healing Magnais attacks. He is a effing WAR, it's not that hard to avoid his attacks. Then kill him together with Hien.

4 buttons. Stupidly powerful heal(seriously, it healed like 60ish% health on me or hien), DoT, nuke, mana regen cooldown. Might not be in that order as i did the fight ages ago. I dont play healers for a variety of reasons, but this wasnt even remotely challenging.

Edit: Also, not liking Y'shtola sounds like a personal problem. Shes one of the most popular scions, and these "control someone else for 5 minutes" fights have been popular with the player base so far.

She draws health from the last set of adds. Kill the adds so she cannot regen.

Not trolling when game freezes up in the battle every few seconds. Just like those bad lag spikes in duties. Once game unfreezes I'm about dead or Hien is dead. She is least poplar scion for me never could stand her. Only scion that matters to me is thancred. Maybe once server gets moved won't be getting disconnects and very bad lag spikes anymore. Go to technical support and you will see there is lots of players with same lag and disconnect problems that I have. All they need to do is separate the two battles. So If fail the last part don't have to do first part over again. Don't think that be very hard to fix.

I did manage to finally get past the phase w/ the two walls but only by using the Riot Blade / Goring Blade combo as it apparently does DOT when the main skills in Rage of Halone combo do not do any DOT. Still - I get pretty much smacked dead by meteor before I can get her to 1/2 health and/or take out 1 add in the next phase w/ the meteor timer bar thing.

BTW that's a bug - because there is a meteor strike in the phase w/ the 2 walls but NO indicator of the meteor casting like there is in the phase that follows it.

I have done this fight 30 times. 6 tonight. A fight this hard should not be in the MSQ. I'm almost going to have to wait until the next expansion to out itemlevel it when ILs are in the 420s.

Hi foodl3. To better output damage for Paladin, utilise the Royal Authority combo (Fast Blade -> Riot Blade -> Royal Authority) and the Holy Spirit spam (Requiescat -> 4-5 x Holy Spirit). Making sure to keep up the Goring Blade DoT, which is only applied with the Goring Blade combo (Fast Blade -> Riot Blade -> Goring Blade), will also help to make the enemy die faster. If the damage you are recieving is killing you quickly, remember you can use your defensive abilities (Rampart, Sentinel, Bulwark, Sheltron, Hallowed Ground) to help mitigate it, and you can also use the spell Clemency to regain lost health. The ability Shield Oath will also help in lessening the damage you get. In a one on one battle such as this, or other battles where the enemy will only target you, there is no need to use the Rage of Halone combo, as its primary purpose is to get aggro on enemies, otherwise the Royal Authority combo is better fullstop. Hopefully these tips will help you through the encounter.

MrThinker - I know it's easy to pass the "You don't know how to play your abilities" card on this. I really thought that was the problem too. I did this video before I started using the Riot Blade combo - I seriously was under the impression both combos generated aggro and there wasn't a real advantage to either :O -- that being said now that I'm able to get Goring Blade on Sadu it makes the first "secret" meteor phase easier and I can get the 2 walls knocked out and then the rest of that phase is just like phase 1 with the checkerboard AOEs. Fine and dandy. But then I get totally whalloped in the next phase. I can not for the life of me get Royal Authority to drop more than 6000 damage - compared to black mage's Fire III which can do 10,000 damage at times when it crits. Yeah the idea of killing the adds is great, but then you have to sacrifice taking a few AOE hits. And the second you use clemancy, your out of luck because it takes almost 4 seconds to cast Clemancy and with this battle being a DPS check, using that 4 seconds is like walking out of a job flipping off your boss - you pretty much forefit the whole fight by casting it.
