They'd hit the tomestone cap for creation before the 53 runs (at 45 runs assuming they did nothing else, in fact).
I guess my point was to make a hyperbole, and that casual content shouldn't be played with this much effort. It should be played casually. Putting this level of effort into casual content is just putting stress in places where it doesn't need to be. (thats exactly why I got burned out on Pyros, no pun intended).
At least 8 man raids you are guaranteed to get each of the possible loot to drop each run.
24 man raids you get to sometimes run 20 times to get a chance of rolling at loot, and unless it's tank gear you can have other people rolling on it too.
Easily fixed by having chests drop 4 lottable "pages", and you can have 1 per week. It's at least a 50% chance of getting one per floor. Maybe to maintain content longevity reduce it to 3?
It would also mean PF loot groups start seeing more prominence, 2 runs for everyone to get a token? Count me in.
They really should do something to make the distribution of loot items to match up better with how many of them are needed. For a full set of alphascape gear you need five bolts, four shafts, four springs, two cranks, two pedals, two lenses and one single chain. Yet most of these drop in fairly equal amounts. There's as many chain drops as shaft drops, despite the fact that you need four times as many shafts. And worst of all, the bolts are also used for orchestrion rolls which can be sold on the market board! Meaning that even players who have completed their gear sets will keep rolling for bolts.
the problem with that is that IF you're getting this gear for their stats and using them to run content, they are NOT equal in value. (1 chain vs 4 shafts and 1 belt vs 1 chest piece). I'm pretty sure Square is assuming people who are after this gear for their stats are also building up tomestones and are likely going to mix and match tomestone gear and normal raid gear to suit their needs. They really should do something to make the distribution of loot items to match up better with how many of them are needed. accessories are the cheapest, which is why they cost 1 bolt. plus, when has a full set of Normal raid gear been a better alternative than tome+raid gear?
I am also trying to gear up my alt with Alphascape gear + tomestones so i know the struggle. I just want the SAM chest piece. But Idc if it takes 5 months to get, the gear is just glam at this point.
The point is not whether or not someone could just go into Savage and get gear but it highlights how horrible of a loot (and especially RNG) system this game has.
Many players run multiple jobs and do not wish to purchase crafted gear so Normal Alphascape was suppose to be a means to gear other jobs, which given how bad rng is makes it near possible.
And then people run them once a week and never again. The whole reason for RNG is if you queue 35 times because of back luck, you've helped keep the queue going 35 times.
If you make the alternative to spending money very easy, it destroys any reason to buy gear. The whole point behind the system is use gil to bypass RNG or deal with it in exchange for a free option. The point is not whether or not someone could just go into Savage and get gear but it highlights how horrible of a loot (and especially RNG) system this game has.

53 runs? You know you could just form a pre-made and everyone would have a bolt in 4, right?
omg yes to this XD I always tell my friends when we are farming anything to make sure they die a whole lot if they want to win the loot rollsUnfortunately, I am fairly certain there is a hidden algorithm in the games code that directly increases your 'lotting power' the worse you perform in any given duty. Example:
Did you die multiple times? That means a 70+ lot right there!
Did you do less DPS than the healers that had to scrape up your melted remains with a spatula each of those times? Well why not make it 80+!!
Were you an active detriment to your party, or did your inability to pay attention to your surroundings, or gods forbid, pay attention to two things at once, kill at least one other person? Then by god congratulations on your 90+ lot on whatever the actual competent players are trying for!!!
Seriously, the number of times I see Dogs, or Birds before that, or Ponies before THAT, go to the literal worst member of the party is just staggering. The same holds true for the 8 man Normal Raids.
