At least the hairstyle can be bought with wolf marks which are easy to get. I do think that they should allow PVP goods (hairstyle, mount and such) to be sold on the marketboard, like they did the Dodo, Night Pegasus and Eldthurs horn. That way people who enjoy those modes can play them, and make a bit of gil besides.

Beyond that, it barely makes thematic sense to me. You've got an entire section of the game built around the concept of battle and defeating your fellow player, and something you can buy is a hairstyle? PvP rewards should scream battle. Weapons, armors, war/battle themed mounts; minions like the cheerleader even make sense.
If old rewards were made available again, I'd live in the Wolves Den.

I agree though, PVP needs more battle-themed goodies for glamour. The hellhound weapons look great but most people who want them have them by now. And the PVP minions that you can buy with wolf marks are so...weird. Like, here's a cheerleader and a.... lantern. What?

What would be awesome is to have things like a raven minion (a nod to Rival Wings). We already have a falcon, just reskin it to be black. Or a wolf mount without the flames. A personal version of the cruise chaser...etc. etc.

Yes that was most enjoyable for people, who displayed their love of this - by leaving in numbers.
What does level 40s suiciding have to do with a PvPvE instance? Completely off topic. This thread is about introducing an instance that is OPTIONAL.

I swear the PvE only community is toxic

You quickly build negative associations with such tactics.

Hairstyles are an almost universal reward that the vast majority are going to desire; you're simply inviting complaints and annoyance on the vast majority of the playerbase by using them for the sole purpose to get people to play content they'd never touch in its current iteration. Not everything needs rewards. This could be a "just for fun" instance that awards tomestones and nothing else

Rewards are cool, but it shouldn't force those who don't want to PvP to miss out. I'd be completely fine with not getting anything unique for this kind of instance. I really am just wishing for more PvP content.

They'd have to rework the PvP system to make a proper PvPvE instance/zone, which will delay it if it ever comes up for consideration. Barring that, the quest system and PvE side of it will have to be essentially 'dumbed down' to accommodate for the faster combos the PvP bar gives you.

It could be fun, but it largely depends on the community. Just like in Aion, when I did Dredge, you could have a super fun match with both teams actively playing, or get completely steamrolled, or just have AFKers that cripple either or both teams. It'd be a hard sell to justify it's worth when the PvP community seems so small, and from what I remember of the PvP question at the Q&A at FanFest, it was basically "it'll be it's own separate thing and probably won't be for a long time" in regards to a proper PvPvE setting. Although Yoshi did mention they tested it before? So who knows, maybe it is sooner than we think.

I think the PvE is toxic in appearance because they don't like PvP and yet the devs put rewards they want into PvP, like hairstyles and emotes. So of course they get mad. Personally I think battle-centric emotes would be appropriate and keep to armor/weapon rewards. If they do keep doing hairstyles, maybe obviously 'battleworn' looks? Unevenly cut hair, irregular almost-scalped parts, total messes sort of thing if they want aesthetic stuff. I'd PvPvE for days if I got a loose, messy version of my Au Ra's braided pony tail lol

But in the grand scheme of things: SE, give your PvPers a bone, and PvE'rs can just keep doing what they're doing, honestly.

Another reason to not have PVP in the open world is because you then have to balance PVE skills for PVP which can make some abilities not fun to use. That's why they completely seperated the PVP skills and such already so they could balance them seperately.

I'm so-so. I really liked to play Templar and miss weapon switch or twink. Thought I hate pk, dredgion was a rather good idea. Then... why not? There is a doubt they can had something like that. They will need to make the lore evolve a lot before it makes sense.

But yes, I sometimes come to think some kind of HL PVP could give more sense to the game than tomes farm and roulette runs after each extension.

I saw pvpve always ending up in three different playstyles: pve only and avoid any pvp where it is possible, pvp ganking of the lowbies/newbs, or a zergfeast.

I'd prefer keep pvp and pve separate.

But I understand your point of view very well : it ends like Black Desert when PVP becomes savage PK, they are forced to separate players.

As someone who did over a thousand FLs, and a fair amount of feast matches, having all your abilities in PvP, even if they tweaked the potency of moves every other week, PvP was far more fun than what it is now. Heck, barring maybe DRK, all of the classes had their uses in PvP. MCH and BRD had powerful bursts, MNK had silences and stuns, DRG had a stun and strong potency moves, and could be slippery with their jumps, Nin you could choose between a stun and a silence, and could sneak about with medals in the feast to ensure wins, SMNs had aoe DoT pressure, and burst with Fester and Deathflare, not to mention and aoe bind, which was perfect for preventing the enemy team from withdrawing in FLs. BLM had the infamous and powerful Sleeps, as well as some high potency damage, that you could avoid if you LoS them so they couldn't use their leylines. Astro had instacast spells which where invaluable, and good MP management and buffing potential with cards, WHMs had a knockback bind, and their sleep which was also very potent, making them meta, but with good purify useage, other healers could beat. War had high damage output, their Fell Cleaves were amazing, and holmgang kept the healer in place for DPS to kill. PLD had Stuns and Silences that can lock down the enemy healer, could cover their own healer, and heal them selves and party members when a healer oom'd Sch... Was a bit of a red-haired stepchild, same with DRK, and always needed some buffs, but towards the end of HW, the classes were fairly well balanced.

With the PvP abilties changed, there are still balancing issues, and now the classes have just lost their fun tricks.
