Viera Race "Confirmed" for 5.0! Are you gonna change races?

Yes we need more options in the Lalafell range. We already have tall Elezen, Roegadyn, male Au Ra and Highlander - but the only small race are Lalafell.

Female Au Ra are the 2nd smallest race out there. I have no idea what can actually fit between lalafell and female Au Ra.

The problem about tall female races like Elezen and Roe are, that they pretty rare (and sometimes ugly. sorry).

I guess Viera would be some kind of tallest but also sexy race. Maybe a bit smaller than Elezen, when you exclude their bunny ears.

Agreed. In my opinion Elezen look ugly, and their bodies are shaped like cardboard, and I won't even get into the she-hulk race. I'd rather make a male character, and I think the male characters in this game look dumb. Sorry, I'm just not into the emo hair cuts or the neanderthal hyur.. Just my opinion.

If I remember correctly, Lalafell are around 90cm tall and female Au Ra are about 150. There's definitely room in the middle for a shorter-than-human race - it's a bit of a gap in the range of heights, if anything.

Alternately "a bit smaller than Elezen" would put them somewhere around Highlander height, though presumably a different build.

But seriously, I feel like you can make nice-looking characters with every race - some just take more work than others.

I have a male Elezen too - they're pretty spindly but also really elegant in the right costume. (Or a lot of costumes. Playing dress-up is fun.)

Same. I have wasted probably 8-10 fantasias, but always go back to almost the exact same Raen. I wish I could fine tune details more, though.

That's... pretty much exactly how elzen look in-game. The only difference I can see is we don't have an ear option like the full figure on the right has. But the top face is straight-up face option 3 from the game:

I mean, personal preference is subjective (I've made no secret of my contempt for the female Au Ra models) but you can't really look at these side by side and say they are different. Just like you can't deny that, statistically, there are more "cutsie" races in FF14 than there are "powerful" ones. I mean I get it, cute sells (especially in Japan,) and nothing will ever induce me to switch from Roe, but more variety would be nice. Here's hoping they go the "hyur" route with Viera and give us one of each body type instead of the basic recolor.

The issue isn't with the faces; it's that the body proportions in-game are terrible compared to the lithe presentation of the concept art. Very rarely does gear look good on them given that everything is designed around the more average Midlander/Miqo bodies, nor does it help that Elezen have some of the worst walk/run cycles of all the races currently available.

Will be very disappointed if Viera don't take after Fran's glamazon aesthetic and refined nature.
