The people that assume you are hiding poor performance are precisely the lot you want to avoid.

This is such a bad attitude to have. If someone is trying to do savage, they are literally required to perform up to a certain level. Hiding poor performance is an indication that someone doesn't want to get better, i.e., they want to be carried. Don't tell someone to hide their logs, it just puts them in a bad light. People that want to get better and learn more shouldn't be afraid to hide their logs, because that is how people can help them.

Honestly with alphascape it feels like people lost any tolerance for any mistake and expect people to perform like robots, in party finder, where you get what you get - all types of skill and fight knowledge - I don’t get it, if you get a bad group, just find another (there are plenty), plus the fights are like 9 mins long so it’s not exactly much time wasted.

A lot of people don't want that bc they like the flexibility they have in PF. They can just hop in whenever they want and if they don't want to go on just leave.

Imo there is nothing wrong with raiding via PF and still wanting some sort of reliability and standards to be met, but the party leader has to be aware that his search for party members just might take longer and he might get some "bad apples". Tho, I agree a lot of people in PF should chill more and don't be so fierce, but that's up to each person.

For OP I can only say: try to shake it off. It happend twice so it's not really a regular thing and a lot of people still dislike SAM (even more when you are still learning the class aka have greyish logs, bc your bare pDPS is basically all a SAM has to offer), so just try to improve and move on.

So you got kicked from only two parties? No need to worry about that. Maybe bad luck or something.
I guess they kicked you, because they got a friend who wanted to join as ninja. But I dont think its a problem to join as SAM. Melees are rare these days. Try to join PF als ranged (no matter if physical or mage) DPS. Hell!

Getting kicked from PF might be because of many reasons.
1- They have enough melees. Party leader did not update the jobs after people started joining.
2- Duplicated jobs. Maybe a SAM have already joined but switched to another job while waiting for party to fill.
3- They are waiting for a friend. Someone in the party might have told the leader that their friend is joining.
4- Bad reputation with one of party members. Maybe someone asked the leader to kick you. Bad reputation can either be personal or general (Aka; low dps, a lot of mistakes etc...).
5- They don't want SAM in their party. It can be that they already have a BLM and don't want another selfish dps to join, but PF leader did not update job list.
6- No SAM/BLM party. I say this because there are people who are willing to accept any job in the game except these two. Mainly because it is hard to find people who play these jobs that can pull their weight. They would rather have any other job that is useful to the party, even if their dps was on the lower end.
7- You joined the wrong party. It happens. "Kill for a friend" can mean that the leader is looking for people who have cleared it already, not people who are joining to clear it with his friend.

The unpleasant part of the ffxiv community is very present in raid content.

I personally don't think that raiding scene is as bad as people make it seem.

Oh you can also keep your logs to yourself if you want to because you can tell them that you don't want your character name in there.

You can only toggle rankings visibility and sidebar visibility. Neither of those hide your character name from other people.

Hiding sidebar visibility doesn't seem to do anything noticable, the site doesn't even explain what that option does. Hiding rankings slaps a giant "this person wanted to hide his logs" text on on your character page. That's seemingly made on purpose so that people don't ever want to hide their logs in fear of getting ridiculated and are forced to keep their information in there. If there's something I'd change in the site, I'd give users an option to 1. Make others unable to find your character name in search. 2. Make your character page empty without big "I'm a scrub text". 3. Flag your character as a ps4 user.

Log runs and clears are two different things.

And yes, run savage with friends is the best thing you can do. The "very best" of community is there so you don't need to be upset about the behaviour you find there.

That's quite an exaggeration tbf. Just because some groups do logruns (which is perfectly fine idk why you make it sound like a bad thing?), the percantages of rankings are not screwed. Slightly impacted? Maybe, but it's not "poisoned". lol
Also what do you mean with "normal" and "legit" performance? Just because some players have more skill they are not legit anymore? How so?

- You can't compare yourself by item level ranges and this is super important. Here the best you can do is to pick someone and check his/her first clears and guess.

Gear has less impact than people assume. It can make a difference, yes, but not to the amount a lot of people actually believe. You can still pull out top tier dps with inferior ilvl / stats.


I'm not sure what you mean with DPS sims tho. I never played WoW. Is that some sort of "this is how your rotation should look like" or "this is how you should perform"?
