So your argument is that because people get bored after 5 years of the same old stuff, we should just go back to a game that was recived so badly and was so boring (from all what I've read in this thread and elsewhere - waiting 15 minutes for a steak to cook... wtf) that people didnt even wanted to play it for free?

No no no not even close. In fact we have seen a huge influx of ppl lately, esp since Ninja is streaming XI again and we are getting a fan fest of sorts again here in a couple weeks. There are around 3k ppl online at any given time on my server, we still get monthly updates and the game is still going super strong. They put in a lot of QoL fixes and its still a good time.

It is. But at this point I don't have much issues with it. There are also modders improving the graphics zone by zone. The QoL fixes SE implemented have been wonderful and every piece of content is still relevant. They even made new versions of Dynamis, salvage and such and added new stuff like Omen and Ambuscade. There is plenty to do solo and with groups. I think the only thing that's really dead at this point is abyssea.

BG wiki has a returners guide and a quickstart guide and you can google FFXI HD for the youtube page with the graphic improvements if you wanna see em. I would link em but I don't wanna be dinged for it.

Like I said its still going strong and there are still lots of ppl playing so if you haven't played in awhile you should check it out. I honestly still have more fun in XI than I do in XIV just because there is so much more to do.

FF11 was a competent game back then and still is FF14 pre Arr clearly was not .
FF11 has changed a lot some for better and worse
but it didn't need an entire rework to financially correct itself like ff14 did

I see your complaints a lot about this game and its clear you are just done with FF14.

Have you ever heard of Confirmation bias? It's what you are doing when you take quotes from other people, don't cite facts, and just take their word for fact because you agree with them.

I'm not trying to imply that you are doing this. Because that's not subtle enough to be implication.

Also, raiding community =/= total people playing. Someone else brought up that it's probably about the same amount of players who played 1.x.

Let's be honest here. People here want to see this thread stop being bumped. And I'd rather we stop this whole thing as well. But since i can't be as nasty as I want to be because of rules and social standards, I will say this again with a few more things.

Stop complaining about 2.x+ because you liked 1.x on the forums and just go play whatever game makes you happy.

If it's not 2.x+, stop subscribing to it. If you don't like 2.x+ don't play it or pay for it. It's called voting with your money. Do it.

If you do want to play 2.x+ and just have minor gripes like most of us then go play it and stop complaining here.


If you really want friends, the game shouldn't force others to be your friend. Because that's how you are making it sound. Even in WOW nobody is being forced into communicating with you. If this bothers you, be a social flower and go talk to people. Shout in Rhalgrs, do something. Oh, and since you are on a Japanese server, maybe don't complain about that kind of stuff if you don't speak Japanese? Because if you are playing on a Japanese server and don't speak Japanese it's well-known in the community that Japanese players don't like dealing with non-Japanese speakers. So if that's the problem, maybe playing on a Japanese server isn't for you. If you can't connect to another server, then maybe complaining about that when it's a well-known problem and pinning it on the game is a bad idea.

In case it isn't clear to you: From what most people here are saying, the problem isn't that people aren't being made to talk to you, so you don't have friends because the game doesn't prioritize that it's that nobody else is having that problem so it can't be a design flaw with the game, but something you are doing. And if you can't see past that, stop posting on the forums that you aren't being catered to because that's all anybody will say to you.
