Its not beta testing, its just staggered content, a fundamental of MMOs.

You've taken a reason for disappointment and replaced it with a reason for disgust.

As Reinha said, BLU being in extended "beta-testing" until 8.1 or beyond would still be the best case scenario. If it's not a testing phase, then the only intent to remain is that it always be staggered behind real content, that it will never be a real job and will never make a positive impact on the existing roster or core content.

Sadly, dev responses so far suggest you're correct. It will probably be staggered side-content, and nothing more.

Nothing about what i said, or the term 'staggered' implies it will never catch up. Just that it isnt all released at once.

I think the disappointment for me about BLU comes from the fact that it isn't so much a job/class but SE is using it as an actual content filler for the next patch and is possibly considering following this idea for future patches with the mention of Beast Tamer and Puppet Master. I'd rather have them just release the job as they normally do and let players use it freely in all areas of the game than have it released as it's own thing that people will forget when they get to level 50. Another issue with that is that it will ALWAYS restricted to old content because it's capped 20-30 levels behind unless SE is serious about keeping it up to date. (Which worries me because SE has been known to abandon content in this game - i.e Golden Saucer, PVP, HoH/PoTD etc.)

I feel like they should have just ignored the worries of "the meta" and just went ahead and released it like they wanted. Eveyone doesnt savage raid and everyone doesn't care about having "best in slot." I know most dungeon runners don't and I know most casual player could probably care less.

Sometimes I wish that Eureka was beta tested and then they could have realized beforehand half of the stuff that was complained about for good reasons.

I think its justified if they are making it limited in a sense that eventually they will find a way to add it to the game in a balanced pre-set way to where it can join endgame content, however they need it in its limited form now to do some testing, gather feedback etc.

I think that if that were the case, Yoshi-P would've said as much, instead of "we're going to give BLU Level 5 Death and so we can't have you taking BLU into relevant end-game content".
If they change it so BLU can partake in... the rest of the game... it's only because of this feedback we're giving now.

What worries me with BLU is its longevity as a job.
Once you lvl it up to the max what are you going to do with it?
Since you can't participate to anything with it seems like it would be a dead job pretty soon.

Blue Mage will expand MUCH more. Every new primal added will potentially include a new BLU action.
I don't know why some ppl are afraid of BLU being out of duty finder. Don't you run Savage with party finder anyway? What's the difference? Just start using it, all of the BLU will start using party finder, and I'm more than sure that BLU will be able to tank and heal, potentially becoming a full party of BLU for casual content.

Funny, that's how a lot of people feel about BLU with the new formula. But unlike you and your ilk, the naysayers aren't saying to take away the Masked Carnival. There's the difference.
