Eh? I picked up nothing threatening about their musing on the situation. There's a legit point there concerning this urge to have everyone dogpile back onto Aether.
Telling people if they transfer back it will force SE's hand does border on a threat. It's essentially saying they have to just accept what happened and pick up the pieces or deal with SE's wraith. While not necessarily inaccurate, it contributes to a negative discussion and puts blame on the players. The latter is what I took issue with hence my response.
Which simply won't happen; I explained what would (likely) happen were enough people to go running back in my first reply (which was to another poster).Telling people if they transfer back it will force SE's hand does border on a threat. Best to just let that comment go and let the OP have it's discussion concerning a CW LS for the Crystal DC. There's enough salt about the split up in other threads.
Its not that people are saying they are transferring to Aether to stay with friends, this I understand perfectly, and have no issues with. It's "If you want to raid, or do EX primals, or have queues for Duty Finder at all, go to Aether. Crystal is DoA." That is the issue I have. But I don't want to further take this thread off topic, so this is where my comments to this matter here will end.Telling people if they transfer back it will force SE's hand does border on a threat. I'm one of those that might consider moving my main to Crystal due to free transfer and house reimbursement and chance at getting a better plot/house. Like most I'm worried about DF/PF being horrible if I do move. I'm not a raider or have friends but do a little bit of pvp for the glam items so not much to tie me down on Sarg/Aether.
I don't use discord so the OP's post won't help me much unless they willing to invite people through PF when they decide to do certain content. I prefer pick up parties to get stuff done as no obligation or set schedules to worry about.
The OP mentions that it’s a Discord where people can find help for things like farm parties. It’s not for static recruitment, so if you were to ever ask in the Discord for people to help out with a PF you’re in on the spot, you could probably still get some people to respond.

Still requires discord to ask for help. Anyway thanks for pointing out it though. The OP mentions that it’s a Discord where people can find help for things like farm parties. Eh. Maybe it would be worth it to reconsider using Discord. I only say this because I’ve seen you express frustrations in the past at being unable to obtain things from older content (like raid mounts), and this could be a solution to that as well. But to each their own.

The conclusion that myself and a few of my friends came to when making this server is that with everyone running back to Aether, it just means Aether is going to be the new Balmung. Everyone is cheering thinking the evil has been defeated when really, come 5.0 Aether is going to crash because everyone is dogpiling onto it.Honestly, abandoning Crystal is the wrong thing to do, on multiple levels. I'm staying put because I don't think forcing the dev's hand AGAIN is the right decision to make as a community. Pretty much my whole FC is raiders or former raiders, and we aren't moving. We will make our own raid groups after the split.
We sometimes pull people from PF, but the general rule of thumb is members over randos.
If it's anything but a technical issue keeping you from having a Discord, I would recommend trying it out. You can mute all channels so you don't get notifications for anything but runs of things you sign up for and most of our sign ups are done on the spot rather than static. Discord isn't an obligation to be social if you don't want to be.
Members get priority over strangers is very understandable. Using discord is bad due to both a technical and personal issue. My computer isn't built for gaming and just running FF14 is bad enough as I got barely a passing standard score on benchmark. Having another program running in the background along with FF14 is just bad.If it's anything but a technical issue keeping you from having a Discord, I would recommend trying it out. I have used skype on FF11 before during 75 cap days for nyzul etc. as it was a must. However, I hate hearing voices that I can't put a face to as it's very problematic for me. I can deal with just hearing instructions/orders but for talking socially it's no good.
Already made peace that I can't make friends on FF14 due to this.
