    I'm sorry but that's absolutly not what a BLU is about. Putting restrictions on it would've made it extremely dull while completly breaking the whole concept of the class. Besides, that'd be a lot of ressources they would have to spend to make a single job for it to work with the others, while also considering balance. That's an insane amount of work for a job not everyone would like.

    I much prefer them doing an entire system and side content dedicated to "jobs that cannot fit in the traditionnal roster" and go wild with it, rather than having a half-assed interpretation of an iconic job with restrictions all over it in order to make it "work".

    Except that BLU could still exists at its unique full form with its content outside.
    It doesn't take off the grind will have to get through to be here.
    It's just that there'll be the full BLU experience on solo, and another one so you can still do basic dungeons and raid... like, the other half of the game and also the most fun content.

    As I said, if there was a real "solo experience" (on the world map and all), it could have been interesting. But currently there's just HUNTS, and these are just huge flash effect spam.
    You can't even really enjoy BLU with friends doing some relevant content on the game that will provide you anything.

    What's the point ?

    I think people understood that blue mage can't be the full blue mage with each of their species on multi content. And a lot were already okay with some sacrifices for it.
    I mean, look at red mage for example. Red mage can learn more spell than that, having some heavier armor and all, but on FFXIV design, they had to make choice to balance it within the content.

    I hardly see how BLU couldn't have both aspects on the game.
    Keep all the fun sandbox thingy to have its real form, and make it somehow playable and other content.

    You absolutely can't do anything with this job.
    The majority of battle content is tied to duty finder.

    So, basically, you want a gimped version of the Blue Mage specifically made and balanced to fit into normal party gameplay? In short, you want a boring mage that has nothing to do with BLU except funny animations for its skills, while ALSO having a solo content designed exclusively for that job? That'd be a very poor attempt at forcing BLU to be what it's not.

    Blue mage is about learning abilities from monsters, and using these abilities into battle, while choosing what is the most effective against what you are fightning. None of these aspects can translate well into the current multiplayer battle content of the game. If you were to force it to fit "normal play", you wouldn't have monster learned abilities, you'd have fixed skills and fixed rotation. You wouldn't have monster weaknesses to play with like you will in the Carnival. None of that is the kind of BLU I would like to play in normal party settings.

    BLU is wild. It's special and weird. Trying to force it into being "normal" would end up in a very poor result.
    Just enjoy it being a side content thing. As it's the best they could do with it.
