As long as I get that wonderful outfit with those thigh straps I'm good.

Then actions like the Morbol Breath would be close to useless, since that attack is meant to apply as many as possible debuffs on the enemy as possible.
And when the boss is immune to nearly every one of them, why bothering with such a ability in the first place (ignoring diminishing returns here)?
Look, I am not exactly for this kind of gameplay, either. Playing solo sucks. I know it. Leveled all my jobs solo.
However, given the spell list of existing abilities from older titles, and the removal of TP, you can't make it work without being a discount black mage/white mage/summoner.
Take the above example in a duty : Tank mass pulls half the dungeon and you would morbol breath it. Impossible to balance in a normal environment, sadly.
I'm sorry but that's absolutly not what a BLU is about. Putting restrictions on it would've made it extremely dull while completly breaking the whole concept of the class. Besides, that'd be a lot of ressources they would have to spend to make a single job for it to work with the others, while also considering balance. That's an insane amount of work for a job not everyone would like.
I much prefer them doing an entire system and side content dedicated to "jobs that cannot fit in the traditionnal roster" and go wild with it, rather than having a half-assed interpretation of an iconic job with restrictions all over it in order to make it "work".

Why?
Give me one good reason why every class absolutely 100% has to be designed to fit in the specific and rather narrow bubble of "end-game raiding."
We already have 15 (and soon to be either 16 or likely 17 if the leaks continue to be true) that fit that criteria. Does it really, truly break the game if one or two don't fit that mold?
Of course it doesn't.
People sometimes want to play in MMO's solo...Oh, the horror! And before you respond to "Then it's the wrong game for you." should we vote for the removal of all "campaigns" in strategy games, fighting games or racing games? Maybe remove the career from FIFA. These games are designed for playing with other people. But since not everyone wants (or can) play with others, they have their single-player modes intact since the beginning.
Clearly you didn't watch the live letter...or you didn't pay attention.
You can do almost all the content that any other job can, in party or solo. The only ones you CANNOT do are PvP and Deep Dungeon.
Roulettes are not content, they are matchmaking method. Duty finder is not content, it's matchmaking method. As a Blue Mage you cannot use matchmaking methods, you need to make a party the old-fashioned way. That's all. You can do all the content in much the same way, just with people that are your friends. If anything, this SUPPORTS the MMO concept of being outgoing and making friends. Because, unlike in Duty Finder, you actually CHOOSE the people you play with.
So get your facts straight before complaining.
That being said, I would wish for it to be possible to use these matchmaking methods as well. However! That is not necessarily impossible going forward. It is possible that they will work on it, find the skills that do not break the game, compile them as sort of "level progression", present it to the player and say "At your level, if you have these skills, you can queue in a duty finder. Your actions will be switched to these skills without giving you the option to customize.". It is still possible going forward.
It is an experiment. One that does have a rough start, but that does have potential. The fact that you can take those overpowered skills into party content with an actual party shows that they are willing to build upon it which is more than people had thought.
It could be interesting now that we have most of the important details. I'm curious to see how it plays out. This could be a good thing.
Its not just "end game raiding" though it cant use the DF at all, cant do deep dungeon, cant do pvp and its not even at level 70 so you cant even do hunts besides possibly the level 50 ones but even then you wouldn't even be able to do enough damage in most cases to get credit. Why?

This is a game that is designed around getting to max level and doing content afterwords whether it be MSQ, roulette's, primals, raids, Eureka or whatever which this job is completely unable to do.
You seem really adamant on defending SE on this one though.
I won't comment on PvP because it is not something I engage in. The other things though, you will be able to do things as a pre-made. While it is level 50 capped now (or rather will be in 4.5) they did say it would be increasing over time. We don't know that it will always be under level cap. I mean it may very well be, but my point is we can't give something as a definitive con based on knowledge we do not have at this point. Its not just "end game raiding" though it cant use the DF at all, cant do deep dungeon, cant do pvp and its not even at level 70 so you cant even do hunts besides possibly the level 50 ones but even then you wouldn't even be able to do enough damage in most cases to get credit.
It has its own max level and it has its own end game content. And, in premade groups, it can mess around in old end game content as well.
