The only drawback I can think of is that we might hurt someone's feelings when I come into an instance wearing... the Amon hat... ON MY BLACK MAGE!!!! Oh no!!!!

Actually no. Despite that most people are saying that all restrictions should be lifted with the exception of AF, if all restrictions are lifted then the next demand will be to also lift the restrictions from AF. That is how we got to where we are at now. Certain previous restrictions are no longer present, but it wasn't enough.

I will say it as many times as it needs to be said: Give an inch, take a mile. I would actually reinforce the glamour system if I was SE. "Say what? You think it is BS that restrictions are in place, but you can tank in a bikini? Fine, now no one can tank in a bikini, or a pig suit, or santa glamour. I would actually make it so tanks MUST look like tanks, and healers MUST look like healers. What do you think about that?"

Trust me y'all, I love the glamour system more than any other system in this game. But this is one of few games where you can level everything on a single character, and I find having to level another job to obtain the look you want an awesome incentive. You can argue that after getting to that level and obtaining the gear it should be a free for all, but I disagree. As an example, the game already lacks tanks. So what on the planet would even whisper to me that it is a good idea to allow DPS or healers to look like tanks when they are not playing one? If anything, I would make DPS exclusive gear the free for all but I am against this as well. If you want to wear DPS gear or glamours, you need to play a DPS job. That is my mindset, and the same goes for tanks and healers.

    Really? That's it?

Look, I'm the absolutely worst person when it comes to try and taking sides. I sit down and think "if this were to happen what would be the most amazing things that can come out of it?" and I imagine all the awesome things than can come out of it. Then i think "what would be the most catastrophic things that can come out of this?" and I imagine all the bad stuff that can come out of it. I know I'm just one brain and I can't possibly cover all the options. Then I weight my personal feelings towards the pros and cons. More often than not i'm neutral towards things.

On this subject however I lean towards the disagreeing with unlocking the class restrictions.

I'm somewhat saddened that the "catastrophic" drawback you can come up with is "people will be offended". Granted that can be quite severe if it escalates into Harassment. Now take a step back. Who deals with Harassment claims? the GMs. If everyone were to start getting offended to the point the harassment increased in a noticeable way? Take another step back. How long till devs realize? how long until SE to take a stance on it if at all? would they hire more GMs? That means more expenses. Investors don't like expenses... who would suffer then? The playerbase.

Would the fact you get more freedom to express yourself weight more over random people or even yourself get harassed over it?

My brain works in strange ways and my hands are too frozen to keep going not to mention that this is too long winded already. I hope you somewhat understand my thought process on this. I will eventually explain which "catastrophic" drawback is making me lean against the removal of class restrictions if people still wish to understand.
