I played a pretty reasonable amount in 2.0/3.0, for frontlines anyway. Had a decently large linkshell for casual pvp, but when feast was introduced it all fell apart and most people moved on to try feast and quit shortly after. After that, the option to queue as a freelancer was added. While this is a great option for easing the terrible queues, it did kill a bit of "grand company pride" that I feel helped form bonds with people. I personally didn't care for the 4.0 changes, the change to pvp gear being only glamour, and all of the feast in general. Now on primal data center, it feels like only maelstrom has real players while the others are mostly bots so there is no enjoyment to doing frontlines anymore.
