If the system weren't broken, the only limit would be the amount of gil that the player is able to spend. This isn't the case on populated servers, where you either have to camp for hours upon hours, or find someone who is selling theirs at a reasonable price.
I'll say it again so maybe you can comprehend it this time.

1: The number of plots that can be purchased by an FC or a player has been increased from 1440 (2.4) to 4320.
2: The prices were reduced with the introduction of patch 3.3 to unify the prices across all servers.

There are two gil sinks in this game, one is housing itself, the other one is taxes on MB transactions. Please tell me why SE would lower the prices of all plots if the goal wasn't to make it more accessible? Why triple the amount of plots if the goal wasn't to make housing more accessible? There's never been as much currency going around. Anyone that plays this game casually should have at least a couple millions. Even new players that aren't skipping the entire MSQ can have a couple millions by reselling whatever the game throws at them. Gil has lost any value as it is right now and the changes to one of the two gil sink this game has is partially to blame. So yes, it is ridiculously easy to obtain a house considering that there's 3000 more plots than 3 years ago and that populated servers suffer from deflation.

By the way, your post lost any credibility when you implied that Gilgamesh is less populated than Mateus.
