I know two incentives that would work: *cough* rank decay *cough* bring back chat *cough*Yeah, don't put it in the MogStation. If they're going to keep these things just as an incentive for PVP, then make rewards like they did with GARO - you have to win X amount of each type of match to get it. Love it or hate it, GARO got people involved in PVP more than any other initiative the devs have tried so far, even the Feast tournament with tickets to freaking FanFest for crying out loud.
I agree that people in the top 100 should get a voucher that can be redeemed for previous prizes. But if you're going to cling to the hopelessly inefficient and highly-exploitable leaderboard notion, then for the love of Halone, do something about the boosters, win-traders, hackers (very few but they do exist) and alts up there. Players shouldn't have to police a mode. It has gotten out of control and there are so few people doing Feast now that you can literally be matched with the same remaining dozen or so players (or their alts) because so few people care anymore.
PVP is on life-support and I fear when the devs bring the paddles out, it will be too late - and that's really sad because the Feast is a lot of fun when you get into it.
I have always been against that for obvious Reasons. Why make the few valuable items that are in the game worthless? Especially Season 1+2, the only Seasons where Wintrading or boosting was are very rare thing (at least in soloqueue).
I also think that Yoshi P knows that a lot of the western people dont like the Feast in its current state and it would hurt this Game mode even more if they made its rewards available to everyone afterwards, even though noone takes Feast seriuosly anymore thanks to all the traders and boosters.

SE has gone all-in for 4x4 feast as the premier way to pvp in this game. The same one where you are expected to use the "hello" button to signal burst ready. Taking away the exclusivity of the prizes would hurt the participation of ranked feast solo que, and then everyone would have access to the meh glamour, mounts, and the jewlery. If they offer these to everyone the tryhards would stop queing and would relegate feast back to the dark ages where people qued for fun on fridays. This change would devastate the avg que time and make pvp (feast) worse. They would never change pvp and make it inferior to what it was.
why though?? it makes doing PvP not worth doing at all then? It's been more than a month since the last post about this topic so I'm bringing this up here again.
I'd love to see the old feast rewards somehow available again. I don't care how but locking desirable items behind unpopular content AND making it exclusive to a small amount of players for a specific time is ridiculous.
To describe what I mean with unpopular: Ignoring the fact that queuetimes take ages and that the general opinion on it is "It's trash", "They should stop wasting their resources on it" and "They should delete it", the dedicated PVP-players admit it themselves everytime someone requests alternative methods for feast rewards. The most popular argument I read is "Then people wouldn't play ranked anymore" or even "they wouldn't play pvp anymore" (if you could get it outside of pvp). What I read here is "This is not fun and if I don't get cool stuff, I won't play it". The purpuse of a PVP mode should be fun and entertainment but it seems the item rewards are the sole reason for people to do PVP. I personally really enjoy the PVE content a lot and help out training groups daily while still raiding with my own static even though we cleared everything already. Why? Because it's fun. I don't get any rewards from it most of the time but I still do it. I can't understand why people have to defend this system if it forces themselves to do something they dislike all the time.
Another thing that bothers me on top of it is that they even make those rewards exclusive in the first place while PVE rewards (which is the obvious focus of the game) stay obtainable all the time. It even gets easier the older it gets. Drop rates of old mounts got increased. Coil savage (which only gave titles) can now be done unsyched. I can't wait for uwu and ucob unsyched on the next expansion (which really doesn't sound unrealistic) /s.
If there is nothing else that can be used as ranked rewards then go ahead and make them exlusive for a while so everyone who gets them can at least show of how they spend a lot of time with something they don't enjoy but don't make it impossible for the majority of the playerbase.
Usually I wouldn't want those exclusive rewards be available at a later date, but the fact that people just win-trade for a fair amount of them leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I really don't like it how for some of the mounts, only the cheats have it.
There was cheating even in solo-queue in season 1 and 2. Me and my pvp fc ran into a fair few speed hackers. Like people running faster than someone sprinting, with heavy affects doing nothing to slow them down.

How can 1 guy out of 100 be "only the cheats have it"? Your wording is off and people here sometimes don't know it better (because it is some time ago now).
And are you sure you mean feast and not frontline? Because playing with your PvP fc sounds a lot like playing frontline with them.
Season 1 and 2 had probably the least issues with boosters/cheater/wintrader, competition was high, and lots of good players played it. The mode was too new for something like that.
idk dude, if there is a mode you don't like, you don't have to play it only because there are rewards that are exclusive. You can just go on with your life and ignore pvp. If you "hate" PvP in this game, why bother about the rewards?
Oh, so you actually like the rewards from it? But you don't want to work for them? Well OP is asking for a way, that makes them obtainable in a "grindy" way, so you would be spending even more time in PvP after all? It is pretty contradicting don't you think?..
And making formerly exclusive items available on mogstation instead of in the game again, would send a very bad signal. Legacy players don't want to see their exclusive mounts on mogstation either I guess.

Season 1 had only one big case of cheating in the top 10 (at least on primal), that person still wear his beta wolf title with pride![]()
Your first "obvious" reason is that they would become worthless. People still farm primals as soon as they release even though it's easier to farm them later. People still do UCoB and uwu even though everyone can potentially get a clear (and there are already many bought kills). People really like those rewards and I can't see how something can become "worthless" just because you can't be the only one who has it.
What you are saying here is that the majority of NA and EU doesn't like Feast and that it's already close to a dead gamemode. Why should someone who develops entertainment software force his playerbase to do something they dislike so they have an excuse to say that it isn't as dead as diadem.I also think that Yoshi P knows that a lot of the western people dont like the Feast in its current state and it would hurt this Game mode even more if they made its rewards available to everyone afterwards, even though noone takes Feast seriuosly anymore thanks to all the traders and boosters.
When it's not worth playing a game because it's not fun, you shouldn't play the game.
Because me and other people especially wanted those mounts before they were even in the game. The fact that they added those in PVP is already a heavy hit in the stomach.
I was generally asking to make them available again because most people would agree on that. I personally would want them in the Mog Station. I made the suggestion to hide to rewards behind a delayed PVP grind to give those top 100 players some sense of exclusitivity since they don't have to grind and they are the only ones who can own those rewards for a certain amount of time.Oh, so you actually like the rewards from it? But you don't want to work for them? Well OP is asking for a way, that makes them obtainable in a "grindy" way, so you would be spending even more time in PvP after all? It is pretty contradicting don't you think?..
Because the Feast is Yoshi P's "Baby" he wants it to be succesfull cause its his own little project he seems to like.
They also force you to Grind Pagos like a little bot if you want the Relic weapon. I know its not quiote the same since pagos stuff will always be available but you are still forced to do it if you want the stuff.
I never said there was NONE of all that in Season 1+2, i just said there was way less then there is now.

There were (and still are) a good number of hackers in Feast. And some of them have been caught and put on display in Twitch and Youtube. I'm not linking to them because of Forum rules, but you can see one guy up on the walls of the arena, raining down fireballs and no one can reach him. Another sprints constantly with no cooldown. And that says nothing of the exploit where people used Palace of the Dead pomanders in Feast and became Manticores and beat the snot out of their rivals. Were they ever punished or do they still retain their ranked rewards?
(As a side note, it would be really cool to have a pvp mode where there were transformation pomanders!)
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.
