    Make old feast rewards somehow available again

    It's been more than a month since the last post about this topic so I'm bringing this up here again.
    I'd love to see the old feast rewards somehow available again. I don't care how but locking desirable items behind unpopular content AND making it exclusive to a small amount of players for a specific time is ridiculous.
    To describe what I mean with unpopular: Ignoring the fact that queuetimes take ages and that when I talk to people the general opinion seems to be "It's trash", "They should stop wasting their resources on it" and "They should delete it", the dedicated PVP-players admit it themselves everytime someone requests alternative methods for feast rewards. The most popular argument I read is "Then people wouldn't play ranked anymore" or even "they wouldn't play pvp anymore" (if you could get it outside of pvp). What I read here is "This is not fun and if I don't get cool stuff, I won't play it". The purpuse of a PVP mode should be fun and entertainment but it seems the item rewards are the sole reason for people to do PVP. I personally really enjoy the PVE content a lot and help out training groups daily while still raiding with my own static even though we cleared everything already. Why? Because it's fun. I don't get any rewards from it most of the time but I still do it. I can't understand why people have to defend this system if it forces themselves to do something they dislike all the time.
    Another thing that bothers me on top of it is that they even make those rewards exclusive in the first place while PVE rewards (which is the obvious focus of the game) stay obtainable all the time. It even gets easier the older it gets. Drop rates of old mounts got increased. Coil savage (which only gave titles) can now be done unsyched. I can't wait for uwu and ucob unsyched on the next expansion (which really doesn't sound unrealistic) /s.

    If there is nothing else that can be used as ranked rewards then go ahead and make them exlusive for a while so everyone who gets them can at least show of but don't make it impossible for the majority of the playerbase.
    Edit for clarification: This thread is about adding any way to gain old rewards. How is one of the things that should be discussed here (or why not at all).

    Feast prizes should most definitely come in the form of prize tickets with a vendor to choose from any of the prizes. That idea doesn't devalue the feast reward, while taking away the "timed exclusive" nature of PVP rewards, i.e. everyone wins in that scenario.

    While I get where you are coming from, the entire nature of PVP means that some people just won't get rewards if they aren't good enough, that's how any PVP game works, someone has to be at the bottom. So long as you recognize that this is an unfortunate part of competitive content, and that the system should be designed where if you work hard enough you will get the item you want eventually, rather than everyone getting the item. If I misunderstood and that wasn't your point, I apologise, but I wanted to throw that out there because many people hold that view.

    I think I saw the idea mentioned somewhere else where those top 100 get those rewards guaranteed and other people get some prize tickets and the amount depends on your rank. Then you can buy old prizes if you get enough tickets. The price for each item could be placed high enough that you'd have to play at least 2 seasons and get a high rank if you really want the rewards (high rank in a sense of: The most prize tickets possible before being in the top 100). That would give people at least 2 seasons to show off their new cool gear or mount before other people can. They could also make the items purchasable after that "least required time" is over so people can't simply stock up on those tickets for 4 seasons until there is a new reward they want. I really dislike PVP in this game (I'm generally not someone who enjoys PVP) but making those prizes to something you could also work towards afterwards is something I can agree upon. Even if it includes doing PVP itself again. That's why I never complaint about PVP mounts locked behind achivements.

    I'm fine with this idea so long as it doesn't apply to the top 10 (?) and first place prizes. You get a literal trophy (among other things) for winning the season, nobody else should get, its the grand prize that everyone competes for.

    I don't remember any other items besides the trophys but I mean... a trophy is a trophy. It's a litteral sign of "I got this place" compared to what the other rewards SHOULD be. I personally wouldn't mind that

    The rewards for ranking are indeed shared between seasons with you getting a token for rewards of your choice, but the top 100 gives you a token specific to that season. What should instead happen is instead of getting a
    "Season Eight Pack Wolf Voucher B", it should instead just be a "Pack Wolf Voucher B", with a choice of prizes from the current and previous seasons. The exception for this would be the "Season 8 Pack Wolf Voucher A", which should be changed to "Season 8 Trophy Voucher" to differentiate it from the other rewards.

    I sympathize with the idea of old rewards somehow be obtainable again, but the reasoning and implementations presented by you Kooper16, are not really fair or smart.
    For once there is a big difference between "us" and you. As you stated you "hate" pvp, not everybody is like that in this game, even if you describe it like that! Reddit is not the "general pvp opinion".
    This leads to people spreading misinformation about the mode. Often you hear something like " I dont have time to play this mode 8hrs a day and sit in queue 5hrs"... While the reality is... you can get top100 in 2-3days. Multiple people with a lot time spent for irl place top100 each season. They give out reskins every 2nd season, even if you don't make it the first time, you still got a shot on it. You just shouldn't start with your climb in the very last week or when everybody else is sleeping on your datacenter.
    You will get diamond with a 47-49% winrate. On some datacenter this means top10 atm. What I want to say with this, it is not that difficult to get top100 these days, even more so when you played last season and start at a higher rating in the next.

    There are, like Lambdafish said, three voucher for each season of type A , B and C. A is for top1, B is for top2-10, and C is for top11-100.
    The rewards tied to your tier rating (bronze,silver,gold,platinum and diamond) do not need a voucher and are simply obtained by speaking to a npc after the season ended. (This system is bad btw, because you might miss out on these rewards if you didn't speak to that NPC in the week between 2 season. Once the next started it will be too late.)

    The issue a lot of people have with this PvP mode, like yourself Kooper16, is that you are used to the PvE style of reward distribution, everything gets easy and faster to obtainable after some time.
    This game has a lot of entitlement problems, many people think they should get any item in the game and nothing should be exclusive. Did you follow the White Raven earring posts btw?
    Most RANKED PvP modes in MMO's offer rewards, that are exclusive to the mode and show that these items have some "value". If you make these rewards obtainable with wolf collars, which is the current participation reward, you will get bots grinding for wins in feast to get bronze or silver. The item value will get close to 0, once popular rare items turn into items everybody has. Where is the competition if everybody can get it? It is supposed to be Player vs Player after all huh?

    To create NPC-Shops tied to your achievement status would be a possibility. If you have the top100/top10 achievement, you get access to buy top100/top10 rewards from past seasons. But as PvP was a lot different in Heavensward, I am not sure if it would be fair to give out those old rewards too.

    The rewards can come back, but they should not be "much" easier to achieve...

    I was also talking with people ingame including players who got the last 2 mounts and they don't enjoy PVP either. They just do it for the rewards. The person who was in the top 100 also mentioned that he was happy that there probably won't be a good reward in the next season so he doesn't have to play it.

    I also don't really like the fact that everything gets easier either. I do all my savage clears before the next major patch and cleared uwu in week 2. Seeing everything getting easier a few months later is a bit disheartening. I still feel good about being one of the good players who were able to get everything early.

    My idea is to make people who didn't make it into the top 100 grind their way to the rewards over a longer period of time (and skill players could be rewarded with a shorter grind). Or put it in the mogstation because I hate PVP but I can understand why PVP-players wouldn't like that (I would even spend 50€ for those magitek mounts *wink* *wink*)

    The only issue with the pvp are the pvp communities themselves. A lot of people out there like competing and wouldn't mind spending time trying to climb elo, but the average pvper turned the competition grounds of every single online game into an insult/afk fest that most people are aware of and avoid for sanity reasons. A terrible place filled with terrible people. Every losing team is always bashed, insulted or chat spammed by someone. Every, single, time. No reward is gonna make up for this. SE is perfectly aware and the SB PvP revamp was precisely aimed to partially solve this. Complete chat disable (the community must certainly feel very proud of it) and a massive reduction of the skills available to try and make things more simple and accessible for the casual player. What's the result? The average pvper (far from learning a thing after the chat lock) still finding ways to harass through afk or mark emote spam and the newcomer completely dissuaded by a normalized terrible behaviour that is given in almost every pvp match.

    Personally, I think they should make the old rewards available, and not through ranked but normal. In normal games the mood completely changes and the kind of people there plays the mode to legitimately have fun. All SE has to do is lock the rewards behind achievements that can't realistically be obtained through botting.

    Huh.

    Funny enough if you join any of the popular PvP discords you will see that there is respect amongst us, even when things get heated. Yes, there are 1 or 2 bad apples, but I ask you go do raiding in PF and see how many bad apples you run into. I guarantee you will get a different person daily.

    This whole idea that the PvP community is toxic comes about from PvE folks getting stuck in low ranks and, guess what, doing PvP with other PvE only folks that think they're the hottest thing in Eorzea because they win duels and Frontline matches.

    There are cheaters for sure, but it really isn't as rampant as people believe. I also hold out hope that SE is going to start monitoring this more, they already disqualified a bunch of people from FRC due to cheating.

    On topic: I say this as someone who has been doing PvP since Secure was the most popular PvP mode, do not offer older rewards anywhere. I have never placed top 100, but I have been playing for a long time. Would I love the top 100 armor? Yeah, for sure. But I also respect those who have taken the time to get top 100.

    Do I think there should be something obtainable for wolf collars? Something nicer than the weapons currently offered? Hell yeah! Give us armor, give us a sign next to our name that shows our ranking, give us cool titles, ANYTHING! Right now the big problem is that most low rank folks see top 100 as an impossible obstacle, and to some it really is. Give an incentive and the low rank community -should- start to thrive. Right now the biggest issue is that low rank folks sneak into the games of other top 100 level players which isn't fun for anyone involved. The low rank gets stomped and has no idea why, the better players are left with a bad taste after losing due to a silver healer.

    I think the FRC titles are a good start and I will be wearing mine proudly. Why? Because it's unique. It shows everyone "hey. I PvP and i like it"

    Give me more of that, SE!
