We Really Need To Talk About The State And Path Of FFXIV

Please read my comments and don't put words in my mouth. I DO NOT WANT GEAR HANDED TO ME. That is the opposite of what I want. I want more paths to improve my character. Repeatedly insisting I should do expert roulettes or raiding is missing the point. There can be more options and more content. Why does have to only be tomes or raids? I've played MMORPGs for over a decade, so declaring that I do not know what they are is a condescending insult.

I was never saying that you wanted it handed to you—that was hypothetical for the sake of the argument at hand. You were basically putting words in my mouth saying that I said you “don’t deserve it”; I gave you an example of when I would actually tell you you didn’t deserve something (i.e., if you wanted it just handed to you). Use your reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.

I don’t care how long you’ve played MMOs, nor did I mention anywhere that it even mattered. Not sure why you’re bringing it up to me.

I told you all the options you had to progress from i350 to i370. Go back and read them. I also said that there was nothing wrong with implementing new systems, but, again, you seem to have not even read that. What we have right now is what we have. If you want the gear progression, you have to put in the time for it utilitizing the systems this game currently offers. If you won’t put in the time, then you will just have to make do with what you have.

I also never said anything about my opinion being “law”. Again, you didn’t actually read what I wrote. However, it is solid fact that casual content does not require high item-level gear, and that high item-level gear is overkill for it; that’s not an opinion, but just how it is.

200 Sastasha runs... I can solo that in about 50 hours. That's still more hours than needed for Eureka. I thought you want the reward to be equal if the time invested is equal? So you want Eureka reward to be equal to Savage raid if the time invested is equal, but you don't want Sestasha reward to be equal to Eureka if the time invested is equal? Why is that? You can't have it both ways lol.

It was a joke :p and I wasn't the one who brought up that argument, I have just been watching. Gosh why can't people get my identity right!?

Well, if nobody in the MMO world ever really deviated from that norm (as per your experiences), can we really tell if changing it would not work?

There's a difference between shaking things up in mmos and then standard of how games work. Things that work in FPS will not work in mmos. They tried the forced story like in single player RPGs and a lot of people aren't too happy with that either.


There are some things we can experiment with, I agree. But the core foundation of a mmo isn't one of them.

As I recall, this raids-having-the-best-gear system was not in Old School Runescape. In fact, the problems I have in this game were problems I did not have in Runescape. There weren't such content dry patches and there was almost always room for self improvement in the game in so many different ways. If you wanted some of the best armor in the game, you could just buy it. Yes, there were some quest requirements and some combat requirements to wear them, but it was hardly a system where the players that did the most difficult content only got to have the special best stuff in the game. There were many ways you could acquire Dragon armor in that game, it all required a grind but you could choose to grind in the best way you saw fit. You could have fought the monster that dropped them for yourself, you could have mined, blacksmithed, lumberjacked or whatever to get the capital needed to buy that armor.
This spiritbonding armor system from loot drops is not a core foundation of a MMO. Neither is raiding.

You got best gear from bossing and crafting in runescape. I would be all for having actual world bosses that are hard with mechanics that drop gear. But the rest of the player base and people like you would cry and fuss up a storm. Saying how they dont have time to do world bosses (even though they dont have to if this is another option to get gear) and it would be the same situation all over again.

I personally am for crafting gear being right under raid gear as well. But then this playerbase would cry and complain that it's not fair that people that worked hard to get gil can afford to buy good gear.


So to keep these whiny people from whining, it's either raid or get tomes (which the token system is worse than rng imo).

Nowhere does she even insinuate she thinks "too highly of her opinions." You seemingly have just taken offense no one agrees with your arguments. Bear in mind, this whole argument started because you insisted Eureka should have the same ilvl as raiders and it's unfair raiders get the best gear. No one has made lies about you. You've simply taken many of us out of context and dialed our posts up to their extreme. In other words, stop making strawmen and either refute the posts or step off the platform.
