I have no issues with sales, I think having sale on a skip potion is bit much. Guess I'm alone with that opinion seeing how all replies so far in this thread been like it's a good thing to skip everything.

What? EVERY reply? You think you're Mystic Meg or something? You telepathically picking up on every thought of everyone who's replying in this thread? Cos I said nothing about skipping in my post, or even buying jump potions (I love the journey rather than the destination, and try not to judge others who don't and wish to skip).

Luna, look at it from a different perspective: keeping in mind that this is an mmo with many mid-to-endgame activities outside the scope of msq, and that the players playing AND paying a sub just for those two things, does it really matter that they buy a jump potion just to have access asap to those things because that's what those kind of people enjoy the most?

Does it really, really matter that people enjoy something vastly different than what you find most enjoyable?

Maybe raiding only is fun for people. Maybe crafting is the only thing that's fun for people. Maybe the story only is fun for people. Point is, if you're admonishing SE because they're selling at a discounted price an item that would allow an old or new player to enjoy something other than what you enjoy, then you lack perspective and maybe you should try putting on other people's shoes every now and then.

I can't help to feel Yoshida is contridicting himself with this sale.
I couldn't find a exact quote but i'm pretty sure he said when Level/MSQ skip was introduced over a year ago that it wouldn't ever be discounted - yet here we have 30% off?

He's not really. As far as i'm aware he has no control over this. Besides that its a 5 yr anniversary so why not.

As to your other comments about skipping the story, alot of people have alts on other servers, this is GREAT for people like that. Also if a newbie wants to skip a story, why is that such a big deal? There's alot of story here and not everyone has alot of free time. If they want to pay to skip it, so be it.

I havn't said people aren't allowed to enjoy whatever. That just twisting my own opinion that I think it's odd skips are on sale.

The story is a one-and-done deal. How much drive do you think a multiplayer game would have where everyone only ever does something once? Not a whole lot. It'd be a fairly short drive. Driving a MMO via story doesn't work.

You get the story once per character, but plenty of people have alts. Possibly for the specific reason of replaying the story.
