With the release of Pagos and how the only way to really get anywhere in it is to grind monsters till your hands fall off, and FATEs that take forever to spawn, so much grind content in one patch and with the release of the Rising and an instance that's never spawning, have they confirmed that they don't want us to even play the game?

Like I been here waiting for 8 hours in total and I still haven't even seen the Rising recruiter. I think SE is subtly pushing they don't want us here anymore. Great content SE 10/10, give whoever made this a promotion. Truly a great representation of 1.0 and possibly a second calamity. Will you release A Realm Re-Reborn next?

To be honest, there is probably more people still playing Monster Hunter more than Battle for Azeroth in terms of cross-over appeal.

Oh, totally. I've actually been playing tons of Monster Hunter World over the past month after getting a bad taste in my mouth from Pagos. But yeah, that still just kind of drives home that their content decisions recently have been turning people off to the game as a whole.

If I had to wager a theory, they probably aren't dedicating many resources to this event given it's free and all. Therefore, it has lower priority servers and cannot handle players swarming it all at once. In order to combat that, they've made the Recruiter spawn somewhat randomly (I wonder if it's time specific) to keep queuing spaced out.

Don't get me wrong. It's a colossally stupid design approach, but... has SE ever been known for their finesse?

Nah I got it figured out. SE are expecting you to use the new companion app to let all your contacts know when the instance giver has appeared, then you can coordinate getting all your friends online.

But everything about FFXIV to even play it isn't free. We pay for the game upfront and a sub on top of that, alongside other avenues for revenue (companion app and cash shop).

The only thing free about this event in terms of cost is reusing in game assets for rewards and reusing old ones for the event. SE shouldn't of cheaped out on this especially as we had unlisted events before without any issues...
