

Has to be longer than 9 hours as I've been checking each hour on ragnarok for around 10 hours now. I'm hoping it's 'only' a 12 hour pop and not 24 hours.



I'm going to guess that the the recruiter being MIA randomly is due to a certain thread complaining about the earrings being available to non-1.0 people plus a love of trolling the developers have shown from time to time. You guys got EXACTLY what you wanted. Why complain?!? lulz...



Nerp, I got into the instance last night on Hyperion and purchased Earrings just fine afterwards. White Raven went not armoire and Manderville went into glamour dresser. From what I understand the recruiter will only spawn for 3 hours then will despawn for at least 9 hours. You got lucky and hit the window it sounds like. Right now on Sarg it's despawned, but it was available from roughly 9pm to 12am last night. If this holds true across all servers it will limit the items available as not everyone is going to care enough, have enough time, or get lucky enough to participate.



So I did miss it. Great.


And for those of us who have alts it will be near impossible to do the event on all of them. What gets me with that is that there's no difference (waiting is waiting, whether you're waiting bc of no NPC, or bc of borked instances), and potentially more harm on their servers - if 1,000 people want to do the event in one location and it's available for 24h, the chance that every single one will do it at the same time is really low. If you have 1,000 people that want to do it and the NPC only pops once every 24h, all 1,000 will be doing it in that same 3h slot. Sure, it could potentially be a lighter load bc 700 of those 1,000 will give up, but...If I had to wager a theory, they probably aren't dedicating many resources to this event given it's free and all. Therefore, it has lower priority servers and cannot handle players swarming it all at once. In order to combat that, they've made the Recruiter spawn somewhat randomly (I wonder if it's time specific) to keep queuing spaced out.
Don't get me wrong. It's a colossally stupid design approach, but... has SE ever been known for their finesse?
