Can't say it's not balanced...it's an MMO you are expected to play with others for the best results.
It is a MMO you should not be able to rocket to capped level... that is not what a mmorpg is. This game has a leveling curve less then half of WoW's is and that game's leveling is ludicrously easy.

A good MMO should take at the MIN 2 months to get a job to cap from level 1 if you are a new player. In the past for most games it use to be 12-18months. You can get to cap in XIV faster then you can cap a characters job in an offline FF game and that is major broken considering one of the defining elements of a MMO is longevity of the game.

The leveling rate in this game, based off it being a mmo is the pure definition of broken beyond belief. Solo rate in XIV is fine, group leveling needs to be cut at the min by 1/3 xp/hr 1/2 xp/hr 40+.

Game needs to promote leveling in groups not pwrlvling. Normal Group sp pre40 is fine, put a pwrlvler a then it is horrifically unbalanced.

You do this by making leveling in groups fun, not artificially extending the leveling like many of you people think will solve everything ("hurr throw more timesinks in"). And stop assuming the level cap will always be 50, the game in its current state is nothing but a testing grounds for 2.0.

I never said I agreed with how fast people can level.

I simply said as it stands everyone can access those same advantages or disadvantages. So it's not proper to same a game is not balanced if everyone has the same level ground to play on. SEMANTICS really....

The whole gear debate is silly. Unless you fighting a major boss...I frankly played most of my levels in onion gear or santa gear and used low level weapons.

Complaining about pricing of gear? Really? Join a LS I don't think I've had to buy hardly any gear unless I wanted to. Most LS make gear for their members. Most people play in silly gear or get some grind gear from a world NM which most are happy to help newbs get.

In any case I don't know anyone unless they are completely antisocial in an MMO has had a problem if they wanted to...to go from level 1 to 50 in a week if they really desired.

There's also a point to not leveling too fast anyhow. Most of the people rushing to 50 don't know how to play their classes at all. I've seen it...horrible playing...case in point the player that didn't even know they could switch between their 3 action bars.

I will agree that it seems SE wants the remaining player base to be maxxing out as quickly as possible anyways...it's SE desire that we move through this era and end this current story line.

And the complaints are silly anyhow...it remains the fact that leveling solo is easier then it ever has been...people who are complaining haven't moved past the point that you need to kill something your level and not 10 levels above you like before. The XP of an enemy at your same level is much more then it ever was. I remember soloing for 50 sp a kill I killed a lot of things to solo level...and people used to kill for 250 sp in full groups. Now it's a good 250ish per solo kill and 1000+ in groups.

I would say 1 to 40 should take you a little bit longer to level since you NEED NEED to learn to play your class. 40-50 ready for the big times and should go faster. Until, the game is more fleshed out in content I don't see this as a problem.

Limiting the way people play just because you don't play the same way or don't like how they are going about doing it and complaining that this or that is not balanced...everyone has access to the same friggin' game. The only imbalance is one's personal playing preferences.

THE MAIN ISSUE IS SIMPLY THIS...IF you are going to allow people to gain levels this fast, you NEED to have more content in game. If a player chooses to max out only 1 class by the time they 50 and because they don't choose to play other classes they have run out of content. If a player likes to play all classes they'll have more content.

CONTENT is king. Without proper content players flooding the game to max level are gonna get bored rather quickly.

SE's focus until the next few patches is the core game battle system...they are trying to make it more fun. They are on the right course. Focus on the main systems and then once that's kosher move on to content.

I'm not surprised that we haven't gotten a ton of content. Player will pay for content and are waiting for more content.

Quoted for truth. I never thought I'd see the day when I could say WoW had better pacing than a Final Fantasy game because it took longer. For the love of the Twelve, WoW's motto is practically, "Life begins at endgame" and there is a more satisfying sense of journey and accomplishment in WoW than there is in this game right now. WoW doesn't allow people to afk their way through the levels, either. In fact, they have a zero tolerance policy on exploits, in general.

I'm sure I will get a couple people point out that this isn't necessarily an exploit so much as bad game design. But I just cannot fathom that the devs planned for and expected players to get these kinds of exp gains, under any circumstances.

I always played Final Fantasy games because I always felt SE had integrity. More and more, that is no longer true.

Can anyone tell me how getting 40-50 in 2 hours is fair and balanced?

I'm not butthurt, cause I've been PLing my linkshell like a mad hatter, but how is this conducive of fair and balanced gameplay?

    Anyone?

This should not be acceptable under any circumstances, and should have been hotfixed immediately.

If this is Yoshi-P's vision for 2.0, I don't want any part of it. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the speculation that this is just a way to facilitate getting people through the glaring lack of content in 1.0. Shouldn't they fix things the right way and add low-mid level content to level through instead of just ruining the game? Before anyone says that it's not worth it when we're getting a new game in 2.0, remember that we're getting ready to pay a monthly fee for this game. Which means that it should be fully supported, at all level tiers. Like others, I would like to know if the level curve and powerleveling will be readjusted in 2.0, if not sooner.
