I'd like to know if there would be something from 1.0 that wouldn't anger or upset those players who got it back then. Something that isn't already in the game's files (like the Onion helmets...that's the only example I can think of).

"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - OK! ✅ to armor
"... and mounts?

Actually, the onion stuff may be ok.
Not part of any date or action exclusive things.
It’s not dated or weathered gear.
It’s not seasonal gear
It wasn’t from an achievement
It wasn’t specific to the seventh umbral questline.
I don’t think they made any statements of it being unobtainable, I’d say two thumbs up on onion gear. Good example!

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.

Funny enough I don’t think I’ve heard anyone complain about the OTHER 1.0 item being brought back for this event, the Manderville Earrings, probably because it’s significantly harder to advocate that those not be rereleased.

Because they never said they would become unobtainable.

On top of that, it was a simple quest reward, there wasn't effort put into it. It's not really a trophy status item like others are.

I've had post 1.0ers ask me why Hildebrand is even in the game at the lvl of involvement they put him in. Simple thing is, he's a staple of the game since his inception in 1.0. He and his assistant were originally just npcs in the quests found in each city, LL, Grid, and Uldah, to get inn access when inns were introduced. SE never expected him to be such a hit. I remember reading somewhere that the ppl responsible for his invention, ran excitedly into Yoshi-P's office to tell him that Hildebrand was a hit and the players loved him, so he was made into the game's comedy relief. His adventures in 1.0 were absolutely hilarious. I am sorry that ppl who didn't play then have no idea why we hold that npc so near and dear to us. His earrings were the reward for clearing the final Hildebrand quest of 1.0, quite a memorable final quest too. One of my favourite cs's too.
And omg, who remembers waking up in the inn to his face? lol.
