So easily used in glamor plates with no space taken.
But on a side note i find glamour accessories very pointless,
Of course there is some that stand out like wedding ring and skalla necklaces are quiet popular i normally just glam them to be invisible since most are just jarring and have no place as glamour for me.

Perhaps I'm missing it, but I don't see these earrings named in that post, either explicitly or implicitly. It simply says there will be exclusives. In fact, it seems to point towards getting to experience the content and a goobbue mount as the exclusive thanks.

Also, if it isn't clear by now, I'm not arguing over pixels, at least not per se. I am arguing against a particular attitude that I think is a rather cancerous element in MMORPGs. I don't care about the earrings one way or the other and they could decide to remove them from the event tomorrow and it wouldn't bother me at all. The pettiness and neediness of other players is a different matter, however.

A: This content was made for our current players and was only intended for 1.0. It would also clash with the main story if it were still playable.

Explicity: The "content" would include what he dropped, it was the finale to 1.0 made for existing players before ARR.
Implicitly: If it wasn't part of that grouping they wouldn't have been missing for half a decade and dropped out of T9.

Neither of those are stretching the meaning. There's very few things that fall into that category regardless aside from unusable crafting materials. The old lodestone being dead and link re-directors no longer working makes it a headache. For all I know it was on the alpha forums. I would like to believe this was all someone dropping the ball but we're probably never going to hear of it.

That's a really twisted perception to make up to bring down someone in a game. I've yet to see anyone "lord" them over someone. You keep bringing up these examples that don't exist. Someone else having them isn't slighting someone else. Enjoy what you have and get over the envy, this isn't keeping up with the joneses.

Taken at face value what you're saying is equivalent to PVPers deserve the completely gutted and bot ridden modes they have, Raiders deserve easier mechanics and draconian loot restrictions and PvErs deserve Pagos; clearly none of that is true yet that is what you'd like use to believe based on your statement.

It's absolutely amazing what will make some people have a full-on meltdown. I kind of hope this keeps going just for the spectacle.

I wasn't going to use the earrings because I think they're ugly and a five-year-old fight I didn't even know existed means approximately 0 to me, but now I think I'm going to glam them onto every alt and retainer I have. Before this thread I would have just thrown them into the armoire with those red hoops we get.

Unfortunately, Tiraelina, you are making an assumption which has very obviously been proven false simply by looking at the lodestone. They decide what value to ascribe to the word 'content'. Given that the Japanese Company Home Office makes the final decision anyway... it could even be said that a nuance in translation could be a thing? Who knows. Either way... it is their code and they decide what to do with it and when.

I think, honestly, the only time anyone has gotten their backs up about attitudes of 'lording over' anyone has simply been when attitudes have flared up in this thread. Opinions become heated and passions flare. People want to be 'right' and throw words around like 'you don't DESERVE this' and that will naturally get a response back, because the developers have obviously decided differently for their own reasons.

If people start to get heated, perhaps they need to step away before they get unpleasant towards each other.

Taken at bare face value outside of this thread and outside of this situation, outside of the context of the line of conversation, I'm sure you could twist it to be what I didn't mean at all, yes. Yes, that would be wrong. Patches and developers working to improve things is obviously a thing. That doesn't change that point I made that the claims of people not deserving the treat being given out that the developers have decided to provide is silly at all. However you want to twist it out of context much much later in this thread.

There is no actual advantage to having this thing. It's for glamour. Everyone needs to chill. Most people won't even use it past the first week or two after release.

I'm sad to see people that attached to something such as this. In something as transitory as an MMO, I'd like to think that people would hold greater value for the experience and the memories over the virtual trinkets.

I'm not clearing Ultimate Bahamut or Ultimate Ultima anytime soon, but if I did, I would personally not bat an eye at the prospect of someone getting those shiny weapons for free a few years down the line. At the end of the day, I would know what my group had to go through, and that'd be enough. These are the things that truly stay with you.

The only reason legacy items are different is because you are locked out from the content as it was never recreated for the new engine.

And to think anyone gets respect for anything legacy only is just wishful thinking also to this day I've never seen anyone with it as glam and i played since 2.0.

If you base feelings on a virtual item and then want to lock out others it's just selfish. Focus on the real thing the celebration that this game is still here ... rather then clinging on to the remains of a broken one.

And yea perhaps a few did really enjoy 1.0 maybe even better then what we have now but will all players having that earrings take that from you?
