Truthfully, I imagine they'll look entirely at the metrics. If the app doesn't bring in revenue to justify the costs for the mobile team in their minds, they'll probably just close the app. All this basically reeks of a corporate decision of "we're not developing this thing unless it's going to fund itself" regardless of what money the base game itself makes.

At these prices, I'm guessing that 99%+ of people will never pay anything out of principle (since they can do it all in-game at no additional charge anyway), and it'll be the 1% who fund it -- but that's basically how the F2P app model (which they clearly based this on) works in the first place.

And well, honestly, if it is generally unsuccessful and most people don't bother using it to play the markets, it basically leaves us at the status quo anyway (whether a small percentage keep using the app and funding it via these microtransactions or not).
