They're literally advocating they don't do well with any hard content if it's not MSQ or lower than Extreme. That's not "misreading". That's ignorance. We all knew what the original post was gonna be about and advocating for, before we even clicked on it. It's incredibly obvious in the header. I'm not saying they're wrong, but the cross over event with the correct monster, is meant to be a bit more challenging. People make complaints about this all the time, if it has an extreme or savage mode. Not just endgame raiders, but also the casual and midcore players.

If they want to make harder content make the actual fights harder not the events here for a limited time. Funny seeing all these people defending SE left and right and they fucked up yet again on a cross over event. First one was a grind to hell for stupid looking items and now it's over the top grinding for something that shouldn't even be remotely this hard, this is supposed to be fun not something I need to make get my raid group for.
If they wanted to put a lower level monster like a Great Jagras, I can see that being the argument. However, it's Rathalos. Again, as I've pointed out time and time again, he's a high rank monster in the MHW title. Which means it requires you being a certain level and hunter rank, to get into that content, which is considered endgame, (outside of Arc Tempered). So it's actually pretty overall fair in how he's presented in the game.

I'd also like to note that "this is supposed to be fun not something I need to make get my raid group". I did 50 of these runs. I have passed on savage and most extreme content this year. So I'm playing very casually these days due to work and other interest in games. But I cleared the content with casual DPS players, Casual healers, and casual/hardcore endgame tanks. 50 times. [B]FIFTY[/]. So no, it doesn't require your raid group. It requires competent players who can pay attention.

This is content that does not have a gate lock on time limit. Squeenix has said this multiple times both at E3 during the PLL and in the last patch PLL they discussed. It's not a limited time event. It's here to stay.

    They made two versions:
Normal - which allows you to unlock it with the 8 man to get the gear and the music
    Or
Extreme - which allows you to unlock the additional minion, 1 piece of music and a mount.

If you cannot do or play the extreme mode, don't. But as you know, just like any other extreme fight, you're gonna need to work for it. Whether it's casual, midcore or endgame. It's extreme. The Armor is the same ilvl as the normal mode. Just allows for dying, similar to the savage content armor.

(I still have not figured out how to see that stupid hop fireball coming. most of my deaths are from that. UGH)
I can answer this part for you. It's actually a quick pick up, but something you'll see him do specifically. Watch his feet. With being against a wall, stay in FRONT of his left foot. Or, you can stand in the middle of his circle, and avoid the first swipe. Second swipe by staying in front of his left foot. This is a repeated two part mechanic. So when he swings once, he'll swing again. Rathian, Rathalos, Azure Rathalos, Pink Rathian all do this the same in MHW.

As for the fireball, you have to quickly pick it up. When Rathalos is going to fire the fireball from his mouth, you need to get behind him. Easiest way to telegraph this, is if he doesn't use a move for 2-3 seconds and standing very still. His feet also do this thing where he takes a few quick steps back, before he does the fireball animation. As long as you're by his left foot, you can easily get behind him and crunch down on the prevent fireball. Once the fireball happens, he goes in for a swipe to whoever he's looking at during the animation. If he immediately turns to someone, he's gonna fireball while standing still.
