A lot of those "Magical" fixes likely took them years to implement, and they had to either brute force or go around old code that wasn't designed to do that.
And all those years wasted could been better invested in fixing the root of the problem. That is not a defense, that is not an excuse.
I feel the same way.Actually... considering how often they're blaming old code (lots of which is 1.0 code or rushed code trying to make ARR come out) they probably do need a 1.0-level overhaul if they're being honest about their limitations which I DOUBT because they could magically double your saddlebag if you pay them 5 dollars a month for their new phone app.
"server limitations"
"server limitations"
"server limitations"
Well start putting more money back in the game then and expand, all those 1.50 EUR retainers and EUR 13.50 outfits you overcharge people, 1 per character. I am sure they can afford it, they just don't want to and milk this game for higher profit margins.

rewriting the entire games engine is not a quick thing. who's to say they aren't working on that in the background now?
They still have to push out content updates.
I mean come on. They told us paid items like the Wind-Up Yotsuyu were becoming single character only because they were out of keys for items and then suddenly put out an account-wide mount. There's likely some truth to the statement but it's starting to get extremely suspicious that the things they "can't" do are much less limited when extra money is involved.

I do not care anymore, I am tried of the excuses. You know what? They should of seen these problems and stop RUSHING out their products and releasing unfinished products. Why is the gaming industry the only one able get away with no government guidelines in quality control like everything else that exists?

Does not matter, hire more people, start getting things done, stop milking the playerbase
You REALLY don't want any government intervention in your games. Look at what the Aussies have to deal with and how heavily the German's have their games censored... granted the US has some stupid/pointless censorship sometimes, but still.I do not care anymore, I am tried of the excuses. I would agree with you if they knew how to self regulate, right now though my answer to the question is yes, it is needed. I am well aware there is drawbacks, but right now consumer protection is needed more. (Keep in mind why I feel this way more so with mobile games, EA, etc, more so then SE (well I should say FFXIV, they do have an exploitative mobile game) but the retainer thing, mog station, and the upcoming app and what they may add with those micotransactions is pushing things.

So your solution it to have the games' quality to get even worse? I don't get it.
If current industry didn't have the habit of launching "unfinished" products XIV woldn't exist and SE would probably have died for now.
Games have ratings just like movies. What kind of guidelines in quality control exists in the music or movie industry that doesn't exist in the gaming industry?
The only "quality control" that needs to exist for games is just truth in advertising. If a game tells me that it's going to have multiplayer on launch, and the game launches without multiplayer, and after launch they backstep and say multiplayer is coming later, I should be able to have a legitimate complaint against them. However I ultimately think the pre-order setup does a lot of damage for game quality on release. They have your money, why should they worry about quality? We've seen that happen over and over. It's why I only pre-order expansions for XIV and WoW now.
