Why is the gaming industry the only one able get away with no government guidelines in quality control like everything else that exists?

Does not matter, hire more people, start getting things done, stop milking the playerbase

Because patch previews are done in 2 parts. They go into further detail in the next Live Letter, closer to the release of the actual content. That's when you get a trailer too. I just saw your reply to me in a different topic and I think you're being a bit harsh on S-E lol. Look I get what you're saying though, there are certain things they play too safe and haven't evolved enough. Personally I am kind of disappointed that 4.4 doesn't seem to have a new pvp mode such as a new map for Rival Wings and a RW roulette to keep that active. Maybe 4.5....

You REALLY don't want any government intervention in your games. Look at what the Aussies have to deal with and how heavily the German's have their games censored... granted the US has some stupid/pointless censorship sometimes, but still.

Do not mistake "I have nothing to do" with "There is nothing to do". They are not the same.

Really the odd number patches I dislike the most. Mainly because its the catch up patch so you will run the new 24 man once a week and the MSQ is often very small, plus no real reason to running EX dungeon roulette since you already have the 360 gear and gear drops from the 24 man.

I look forward to August with Eureka and the MHW collaboration event and by the time those two cool off it will be time for 4.4 which should have enough content to keep everyone satisfied.

To be fair I was doing UWU before my static wanted to up the hours and I bowed out. I played like 2-4 hours a week. I like playing super casually, that doesn't mean I don't like engaging or challenging content. I'm probably (in terms of player hours) one of the most casual people on this thread.

While this game certainly caters to a significant # of player types they also design their content in such a manner that ends up being shallow across all game forms. There are obviously exceptions to this, but they still haven't found a way to design deep or robust content.

Minor side-bar the original DMC on DMD mode is the first and only time I've ever gotten so mad at a game I threw my controller at the wall and broke it. I was fighting Nightmare for the final time and he was a pixel away from death and he killed me from full HP with a single hit. Mind you I don't even think I was in High School yet.

I love Dark Souls though. I don't consider them "hard", but they're very engaging in that even basic enemies need to be respected.

no mmo has lasting content in this day and age. This isn't just a xiv problem.
WoW's Mythic+ is a great example of lasting content. It isn't indefinite (which may be what you're referencing instead), but it had tremendous staying power due to its scalibility.

BNS had the Tower of Infinity which would probably qualify as lasting content. I loved it. A tower of increasingly powerful opponents and rewards? it was nice seeing how high I could get with each upgrade I got + as I got better with the matchups.

It was explained. They aren't out of keys, they just have a very limited amount left they can use so they save the account-wide unlocks for bigger items like mounts while the less important things remain single character. Trying to be selective so they don't run out.

I would agree with you if they knew how to self regulate, right now though my answer to the question is yes, it is needed. I am well aware there is drawbacks, but right now consumer protection is needed more. (Keep in mind why I feel this way more so with mobile games, EA, etc, more so then SE (well I should say FFXIV, they do have an exploitative mobile game) but the retainer thing, mog station, and the upcoming app and what they may add with those micotransactions is pushing things.

One would reasonably assume that those physical items that come with an in-game item should get priority for these keys. Nobody is going to buy a bunch of copies of Encyclopedia Eorzea vol 2 for Matoya's Hat on multiple characters. Anyone can buy a Mogstation mount a bunch of times. Physical items don't sell as much because SE for some reason has a hard time meeting demand. It's simple. Mogstation mounts are a lot easier sell than the physical items. They get more money from Mogstation mounts. It's all about the money and nothing at all about the "important things."

Have you ever heard of this problem happening in any other MMO in existence?

If storage is truly SO DIFFICULT for them to increase for everybody, why are they able to do so when you pay them 5 extra bucks? Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'm assuming it's because they have a forecast of how many people will pay for it, but what would happen if the forecast was exceeded? This is why I have a hard time believing that the game's coding is THAT LIMITING because if it truly is, then they need to invest a lot more time in fixing it because it's only going to cause more problems.

I wouldn't bother, some people defend SE no matter what SE does. I really do not understand why some people do so though. Do they get paid in some way? Do they get a thank you letter? SE is not looking out for anyone, just trying to figure out how to get the most money.

SE's current idea to lesson the sub/unsub frequency to try keep people subbed is to break up what little content they add into more mini parts, like the delay on HoH, etc.
