We need another Housing purge

We don't excuse RMT for cheating/bot/selling gil. Why should we excuse a player poor decision to buy up a half/whole ward when they know their using a loophole to do it?

I'm not exactly saying the players aren't at fault here. It is absolutely selfish and greedy to take extra houses. I admit that even as someone who did it themself. However, complaining about the players accomplishes nothing, and most proposed solutions end up punishing legitimate players.

People should be demanding of SE to actually fix their terrible system instead of raging against other players who are playing well within the game's rules as designed by SE.


And just so it's clear, I have no more stake in this problem. They reclaimed my houses when I took an extended break. One that was extended further because of the foul taste that left me with, along with the other issues I have with SE not improving their game, which I won't delve into because that's a topic for another thread. My desire to continue playing this game has dwindled. I barely even touched it during the 7 free days I had during the callback campaign (which is the only reason I have forum access right now).

Tangentially on-topic, but I'm currently enjoying ESO where I can own 41 different styled houses, simultaneously, and all shared among my alts. And with the subscription being optional, I imagine I will continue to do so for some time.

We've been screaming for a fix since the day housing came out, SE has only slapped it with a band-aid fix that only left loopholes for players to keep using. All we can demand at this point is for them to rip the whole shit system down and demand for a better system to be put in place. Said this in another thread not long ago in the housing section of the forums, but I feel as though they aren't even listening to the NA community and if any push is to be made, it from the JP community. Or another option is we start talking with our wallets. No real fix, no money. However, nobody going to stop paying their monthly sub (that doesn't seem to even go towards this game) just over a demand to fix housing. If people did though, maybe SE would wake the hell up and get their shit together.

Honestly don't blame you either. Few months ago I had to stop playing and had just gotten a large house (on balmung no less after fighting at every housing patch to get one). Lost the house, was able to reclaim my items and gil during the free 7 days. Didn't look at this game again until a few weeks ago. I'm not really bitter, I just moved to a low pop server and got a new house but it left a bad taste. I wanted a house, I wanted to stay with people on Balmung. Having a house won just because I can cross-server most things with those people. Left my alt there also. But nobody should have to choose between wanting a house or being on the same server with friends.

In an case, enjoy ESO! Their housing does sound pretty damn amazing. I tried it back when it came out in beta but I couldn't get into it. If there ever a game that came out that had the same graphics or bettter as XIV and did shit right, I'd leave XIV in a heartbeat. One day maybe... one day... hahaha.
