As far as the dhalmels go, they were monsters originally from FFXI, so I presume they simply reused the earlier models (which were designed to run in FFXI's PS2-era engine) and just gave them a texture update, thus explaining their somewhat 'Uncanny Valley' appearance.![]()

None of them really creep me out. But some of them gross me out.
Gigantoads scared me immensely when I started this game to the point where I'd call a Level 70 friend to kill them for me so I could progress through ARR. In hindsight, I feel silly about it. Still not comfortable looking at them, but I'm not that freaked out by them anymore.
Koja creeped me out in Stormblood, too, mainly because of the death animation. Getting the Triple Triad card that reveals they're made of mud softened that blow for me.
And while Paissa are kind of Dr. Seuss looking, those soulless eyes are rather unsettling.
That'd be about it for me.
Holy crap, I didn't know that. That IS freaking terrifying!Someone just informed me of this:
They're voidsent (snurbles and kin), so they should creep you out! Only the fur actually belongs to the voidsent, whereas the eyes are those of its parasitized host, gazing in abject apathy at the fate of its life, being sucked away.
That's freaking terrifying...
Gamers don't die, we just go AFK

Paissas... Those soulless eyes...
Aymeric.
(Tsuyu is not a monster. She is a perfect and misunderstood goddess. If she stepped on you, then you would know this.)
